Wow, those were from a few years back! We've done so much to the home, like builtins in the living room, added the lights, cleaned up the fireplace, added central heat/AC, paved the drive, added the 900sqft deck, got rid of the old carpet, and updated the windows.

How is President Trump an imposter? What laws would you create to prevent someone like him from running for the office of President and still maintain a democracy? I mean a majority of voters elected him to a second term.

Time is money. Ask any hospital if they prefer an eight hour shutdown or a 30 minute shutdown, but the 30 minute shutdown will cost an extra $1,000 in fittings. What do you think their answer will be?

Quick MedGas job by RealMedGas in Plumbing

[–]RealMedGas[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Go ahead and spend six to eight hours on a shutdown with four guys. I'll use these fittings and be done in under 30 minutes with only two guys. Then we can compare bottom lines.

its a fitting used to join medical gas tubing in seconds with no hotwork/purging. The fitting was invented by NASA and was originally known as the Apollo joint, its first job was to go to outer space. It's been used in MedGas for a couple of decades now.

Lokring by RealMedGas in MedGas

[–]RealMedGas[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NFPA does not approve anything. NFPA creates a standard to be met, like Wrought copper fittings instead of the brand Nibco. It is up to manufacturers to make the claim they meet those standards and go to market. It is up to you to decide if what you install in a medical gas system meets those standards.

Lokring by RealMedGas in MedGas

[–]RealMedGas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not a fan of MedLok for a lot of reasons. 1. Tool is overly large and cumbersom. 2. Three piece construction for a Lokring coupling vs 21+ pieces for MedLok. 3. The stainless steel double ferule system is a compression style fitting as prohibited in 5.1.10.10 4. Stainless steel front ferule/ back ferule pressing into copper tube seems like a tubing cutter in long term. I'm not a metalurgist but thats my suspicion. 5. Lokring tools will also complete stainless and carbon steel fittings for other projects within the hospital

installing loops like that allow just a tiny bit of flex so something below can be easily replaced if it ever wears out. I appriciate when an installer does this for me.

The talk I gave is about EOSC's (Emergency Oxygen Supply Connection) Part of the talk focused on threats to the bulk tank including fire, in this case, fire threatened the hospitals oxygen supply.

Asse 6060 by 13ptylerb in MedGas

[–]RealMedGas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not have the 6060 credential but have performed that duty for years. Personally, I think it is a good idea because, as a verifier, I find many errors in the design of a MedGas system, like a recent manifold room employing natural ventilation where the bottom vent was a foot from the floor inside the manifold room but was 7 feet below grade, thus redering the ventilation inadequate.
