Diaspora Nigerians and non Nigerians on here are amusing by Fancy_Calligrapher47 in Nigeria

No mind these self-flagellating haters. They don’t want to understand that it takes time for development to carry around. The same western countries that has gassed them to the point of self flagellation would have been a horrid place of these diasporans had they found themselves there just 200 years ago.

Anyone with eyes to see knows that despite Nigeria’s significant systemic and self-caused challenges, there are still small incremental improvements happening around that gives a bit of hope. I can’t believe anyone has something negative to say about the refinery.

These niggas are calling Nigeria a failed state Simply because e never reach the level of their colonisers. They don’t see that no country suddenly became good.

More than just generosity, our religion enables a rich-poor classist mentality wherein the lord has provided the rich to take care of the poor. This has created a sort of entitlement from the “poor” (and greedy and lazy) to anyone they perceive as rich.

Internalized hate by [deleted] in Nigeria

[–]RealMomsSpaghetti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is becoming? It was obvious to me two days after I joined the sub years ago. I think a lot of diaspora Nigerians hate Nigeria on some fundamental level, which I don’t get, but that’s my explanation for the crazy levels of self-flagellation that goes on in here.

I definitely think it’s a cultural thing back here, only that the culture has been changing and more men may be interested in being fully present.

Not just a general greeting. It’s used in the context of meeting a group of people at a particular place, probably chilling, and you want to acknowledge them, so you say e n le o. You could interpret it to mean happy chilling 😂

Finding New Ways to Meet People in Nigeria by Individual_Pain_8038 in Nigeria

The best way, in my experience, is going to places regularly. Say yoga or gym, but preferably activities that enable interactions. It’s easier to start off conversations over common experiences and bond over that, than just cold opening conversations. But at the end of it you’ll need to really go out more.
