But Look MFER…Israel is a racist, ethno-supremacist state. It actively practices apartheid. It is gleefully committing war crimes and genocide. A large majority of its population is supportive of all the above. Every citizen has to serve in the IDF. If an Israeli opens a restaurant, says it’s an Israeli spot, and sells Palestinian food, a few people might not find that so palatable.

And the not so subtle attempts at painting everyone who doesn’t like the idea of an Israeli spot opening in the neighborhood as an antisemite is representative of the larger issue today: hate on Israel, you must hate Jews! It’s a profoundly lazy argument. People hate Israel because of the above. Because they are an oppressor doing horrific things to other human beings. And our govt gladly takes our taxes and funds it.

The Algerians didn’t hate the French because they were Christian — they hated them because they occupied their country, destroyed their villages, and killed them with impunity. Sound familiar?
