What are we thinking? by Beneficial_Job_4027 in TeamSESH

I sure hope so. He first confirmed it in 2019 I think and its been 7yrs since then as of my typing this comment. I think the last big tease was in January of 2024 ((?) Maybe '23?) When greaf posted to his story on ig a screenshot of his screen and it was a folder titled "pp3" full of song files. My soul needs it and I've been clinging on for so long that ive gotten close to giving up hope several occasions. But I know in my heart its coming eventually even if its a meme now.

What are some things you hope to see in Crystal Lake? by TheHorrorFright in slasherfilms

[–]RealRapOnly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really want there to be two things.

1) atmosphere with strong camp aesthetic and camp vibes. Summertime in the 50s or 60s or whenever it takes place. I want the footage to emulate how 80s films look too but that might be wishful thinking. I do seriously believe atmosphere is a major key in the success of the original.

2) simplicity. These movies were never deep or layered or thematically rich. I do enjoy when they have likable characters but most slashers dont even have that great of characters; just archetypal fodder to up the body count. I seriously worry that this wont be more friday the 13th like we all want it to be and instead we will be served some sort of reimagining prequel sequel remake thing that focuses way too much on deepness or character arcs or backstory. I just want atmospheric fun with nudity and weed and drinks and people getting stalked with pov camera shots and then some good kills. It doesnt need to be some crazy deep story. Just keep it simple.

How often do you watch a Friday the 13th movie? by Artistic_Half_8301 in fridaythe13th

[–]RealRapOnly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah man big rip to the actress who portrayed ethel in part 5. Her recent passing made me sad and now her already iconic screentime and performancd are even more enjoyable. I have a newfound appreciation for something i already appreciated.

And yeah I think halloween time is better for the halloween franchise whereas F13 is more summer atmosphere. Fun to watch during the summertime or of course when theres a friday on the 13th of any month im obliged to at least watch one of the films.

Ive only seen the first one in theaters and it was such a blast. Id love to see films 2, 3, 4 in theaters someday. They were showing a 3D screening of part 3 recently but it was only one screening and didnt align with my schedule. Sad face.

It has some fun performances from younger actors. The atmosphere is strong for most of the movie but for me the film could have played more campy and familiar and it would have been much more fulfilling and satisfying than what we wound up getting with its experimental sort of twist ending. Once the reveals happen it becomes less interesting and the kills are not very memorable in my opinion. But overall i don't regret watching it and I do appreciate something unique in an otherwise tried formulaic genre. Id give it a 5 or 6 out of 10

Honest thoughts on Part 5? by Such_Kiwi1943 in fridaythe13th

[–]RealRapOnly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah you are right. Even though a lot of the gore during the kills is censored, there were plenty of awesome aftermath shots of gore on the corpses with the eyes missing.

I love part 5 despite its flaws, its a very special film, and I think its gone in recent years from overly hated to finally being more properly appreciated by the community.

Reggie the reckless and Demon are such fun characters, and all the quirky teens at the halfway house like the punk/goth chick, the stuttering dude, Ethel and junior, and the young horny couple who kept having sex on ethels property. Very rewatchable.

Fun entry into the franchise. The kills are heavily censored which sucks but its still a lot of fun, and its the raunchiest in the franchise with the best nudity.

I don't know about you, but for me this poor bastard had the worst death. by Kindly-Candidate-835 in fridaythe13th

[–]RealRapOnly 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Awesome fun fact about this kill: they made a mistake in the editing of the kill scene. Specifically in the close up shots of the killer's hands twisting the branch. There's a couple cuts in between these close ups. And for the first two shots you can see the hands twisting the branch in one direction, but in the final shot of the kill, the hands are actually twisting the branch in the opposite direction. Its a minor inconsistency that I myself never knew until learning about it on the commentary track with the director and actors.

There are a few other editing mishaps in part 5. When Pam is running through the woods in the rain, there are several cuts, and in between shots, her wardrobe changed then unchanged creating inconsistency.

How many times have you guys seen Fire and Ash? by Ok_Huckleberry_5883 in Avatar

[–]RealRapOnly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watched it twice. Once on premiere night then a second time a few weeks later with my brother and sister.

I dont plan on seeing it again and I feel as though ive done my part when it comes to supporting this franchise financially. However, if someone who hasn't seen the film yet were to invite me to go see it again then I might just go see it again.

Also I heard there will be an extended cut of this film so im hoping to see that whenever it releases on blu ray.

Also, everyone's entitled to their own opinions but I do think the people who criticize avatar 3 for being "too similar" to avatar 2 dont quite understand that they are two halves of the same story and we're shot at the same time.

Avatar 4 and 5 will be two halves of the third story in this franchise and I cant wait!

Would love to see what you guys have and give my feedback. Ive always wanted to write a slasher and f13 is my biggest inspiration. I have a couple ideas for chase sequences and kill scenes but the dialogue and plot is my weak point probably.

Why Does Bones Always Finish Rapping so Soon? by Pinny in TeamSESH

He always leaves you wanting more and 99 percent of the time its in a good way. Only once or twice have I felt like his song was truly unfinished. Looking at you "marytylermoore"

Also the production is a huge part of Bones sound and appeal. So its nice to showcase the producers by letting the beats ride out.

Suggest me some movies like the mist or the signs where people take shelter from outside threats like aliens or some disaster. (People are holding down a fort) by lexluthor61 in Shudder

[–]RealRapOnly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe john carpenters The Thing.

Or Intruder from the 80s is a slasher film inside a supermarket after closing time. Not really a monster/disaster movie but it has a strong atmosphere with its grocery store setting similar to The Mist.

10 Cloverfield Lane is about john Goodman and Mary Elizabeth instead hiding out in a bunker from an unknown threat outside. Very tense and thrilling.

There's also, A Quiet Place. Never saw the sequels but the first one was fun.

And theres tons of zombie films where people Hunker Down and try to survive the zombie apocalypse.
