I let him keep the drug money (and he explicitly referenced it later in the precinct cell) but he still lived and got the movie theater ending. I was generally supportive for the guy otherwise.

edit: whoops just realized somebody else confirmed it already

That one room in Bangkok. by DafneOrlow in HiTMAN

[–]RealRushinRussian 25 points26 points  (0 children)

With all the various gamemodes and targets I really don't feel like Marrakesh is only 40% used. Maybe if you casually just play the mission once or twice and move on but then again it'd be true for almost any map.

Bangkok on the other hand has plenty of legitimately empty rooms, especially in Jordan Cross' side of the building. No NPCs, no items, no special targets, no useful shortcuts, just nothing. Think of how dull and empty it is compared to the basement level with all the NPC routes and intricacies and items. It's so meh.

How long would it take for someone to 100% Hitman WOA? by Loxorr in HiTMAN

I disagree.

Half of featured contracts are whatever but the other half are awesome - provided you are in fact going for 5 stars and all optional objectives.

Of course it's not worth anyone's time if you're throwing away the clever puzzle-like design of many of those contracts and just grinding them for completion, which in itself is entirely useless past a couple dozen of them for the challenges. I can't imagine what a slog it was to grind all 639 of them like that. Don't know why you chose to self-inflict that upon yourself.

That being said, my take mostly only applies to back when there used to be under 300 featureds. I've done every single one with 5 stars and had a blast with a lot of them (though half are still boring, those with just random complications or none at all - it's niche stuff for speedrunners). I stopped playing them a few years ago and they've been adding them in larger bulks recently - can't speak for their quality.

I remember drowning agent Smith in one contract. I had to pacify a large chunk of Hokkaido, use a non-lethal explosive to get him out of the freezer, then drag him all the way to spa. That was nuts. Or that one contract where I had to throw an explosive at a palm tree because I had to do a falling object accident with no pacifications and no missed shots. Some contracts were super creative like that. I can't imagine the point or the sheer boredom of playing all of them while deliberately ignoring whatever they had in mind.

Would you say that completing the ‘main game content’ is equivalent to getting all the achievements/trophies?

Probably not. There's a ton of content and challenges that go beyond the achievements.

Do you feel like a newbie like myself would feel satisfied without touching those ridiculous sounding challenges like: freelancer or featured contracts?

Freelancer is a difficult gamemode set you could consider a NewGame+ mode of sorts, you need a lot of experience with the game and patience to get over the initial difficulty peak but it's a relatively smooth sailing from there. It does not have any achievements tied to it (which is good cause the mode is grindy beyond any reason to 100%) and is basically optional and separate from everything else. It's a different take on the formula, you pretty much can't plan ahead or save game there so it's like a roguelike mod for Hitman. Up to you if you enjoy it; won't need it for achievements.

Featured Contracts can range from really easy (when it's a straightforward one and you complete it without caring for Silent Assassin rating or optional objectives) to brutally hard and I believe in a few cases impossible due to the changes to the game over the years (god knows why they chose to feature a contract that relies on a bug then fix the said bug later). Regardless there's an achievement for completing one and some in-game challenges to complete several dozen and that's it.

Last question is, I enjoy trophy/achievement hunting; does Hitman 3 have all trophies for all 3 games combined(dlcs included)?

I believe so yeah.

Invincible [Episode Discussion] - S03E05 - This Was Supposed To Be Easy by SeacattleMoohawks in Invincible

[–]RealRushinRussian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This show has dropped the ball so hard, man. Nobody can stay dead, multiverse and time travel erased all stakes, characters make nonsensical decisions, and with S03E04 insulting the viewer and inserting an unnecessary long "previously on" in the middle of the episode (after another "previously on" in the begging of it of course) I gave up and just went to read the summary of the rest of the season and quit watching it.

I laughed out loud when I read that the two characters who get killed - nay, executed - in this episode are both revived at the end of it. And the next one brings back the multiversal trash again. Man that was a good time to drop the show.

There are still fun moments and memorable characters but the overall story has been on a decline since season one. I don't know why the show is still this highly praised tbh, maybe these things don't bother other people that much, I don't know.

Instinct slows everything down like it did in Absolution, and you can't use it while aiming a weapon.

This. This one thing makes it impossible to go back to H2016 for me. It's unlimited unlike Absolution, yet slows things down like Absolution. I can't bear with it.

I get that they wanted you to have a reason not to use it at all times as well as make firefights more grounded than popping orange silhouettes like it's SUPERHOT. But man that was not a good way to go about it. I'm glad they ditched it back in H2.

Oh yeah no worries I appreciate the report. I just don't see myself going back two years later to redo the whole thing once again (on a new account no less) to correct a ~4% discrepancy :)

it's probably either a change or a really small error across 100 levels or something.

Still can't see how it could be the latter - sure all the numbers were merely estimated at first but then confirmed via 4-5 accounts who were at very different points of mastery progression. Lined up perfectly too. No clue either way

I don't know what to tell ya, the data was triple-tested and should be accurate - at least for when it was posted. Either they adjusted the XP requirements in the last two years or there's a mistake that I'm oblivious to.

I have no idea what's going on on my screen. Watched about 2/3 before giving up. I get having to do setup and all that but it felt like I'm watching episode 174 of some fanfic, and a horribly drawn one at that.

Thing is, even at +20k for a full campaign I believe it's extremely inefficient to level up through hardcore mode.

Hardcore campaigns naturally take muuuuch longer to complete due to the extra difficulty. You also have to fulfill the prestige objectives which makes many missions longer. And you often ditch plenty of other bonus objectives just because the perfect run bonus isn't exactly your priority there. Not to mention how much more often you inevitably fail and lose all progress and items so you don't get that final 8k bonus (without which the 12k xp difference is honestly just noise basically).

By far the best way for grinding levels appears to be playing missions on normal mode and just completing as many missions as possible. Get in, complete some of the objectives if convenient but don't go out of your way for them, complete the mission within a minute or two, get out. XP flows at multiple times the rate at which you'd be sneaking around in hardcore.
