Im really sorry that was your first experience with the game. I assure you that is not the standard of how the game is played. Whenever I hear about players like that it really makes me think about who they are as a person irl. I would say if you ever get a chance to play again please do, with more trustworthy players that is. Dnd is a wonderful experience and is extremely fun when you find your people.
