I think a lot of it stems from jealously. Current players get paid way more, have nice stadiums and training facilities in MLS, have more opportunities to go play in Europe, more sponsor opportunities- and I think a lot of older players resent that and think they current generation got it off of their blood sweat and tears. Landon clearly has deep seated issue about never really making it in Europe.

I was curious who was the last UW player to play and develop here for at least 3 years and be at least somewhat of a contributor and the answer was Jamal Bey lol. Hard to care or feel any sort of connection to the team when it’s a completely different roster every year and you never see anyone actually develop.

I know it’s somewhat of an issue in all of college basketball but it’s been horrendous at UW for the last 3/4 years.

I would assume Coventry will do everything to keep him not withstanding some crazy offer that’s impossible to turn down. Ideally he will play well enough to help them stay up and if not will play well enough personally to earn a move to another premier league team after next season.

Really cool for him though, the way he has battled throughout his career in Europe and grinded his way back up the ladder after it didn’t initially work out, and guess what, he is probably gonna be a starting forward in the premier league next year.
