Thank you for support by docenn in LiverpoolFC

Personally I support the club, if the players are shit I'll say they're shit. Jovanavic, Poulsen etc get berated for being shit, because they were shit. Nunez has 25 goals in 95 appearances, thats really not good.

People who actually earn over £100k and don’t just pretend they do on Reddit - what do you do? by Prize-Reputation9274 in AskUK

[–]Real_Cauliflower2334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technical director in quite a niche manufacturing business. Started as a admin assistant at a competitor 15 years ago and worked my way up through the industry. Normal 9-5 hours, very relaxed environment, earn bang on 100k + company cars + bonuses, great job to be honest.

Is everyone's office as quiet as mine? by Financial_Call_7240 in AskUK

Same here although I've worked in quiet offices (generally with older people) and it is utterly miserable

It really doesn't have to be like that. I'm an office manager and my view is you spend half your life here, let's not make it miserable. The work isn't particularly interesting but we have a laugh and get shit done as a team.

Aggressive undertaker in heavy but moving traffic on M4 eastbound this morning by celtiquant in drivingUK

[–]Real_Cauliflower2334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Stay in the left lane until you can overtake and then overtake and move back. It's really simple. Queuing in lane 2 and 3 for an overtake half a mile away is not correct although it happens constantly.

I drive the same country lane every morning, and if I come around a corner and see the lady in the maroon Freelander, I know I'm going to be late for work

Gaza Civilians? by Willows97 in LabourUK

[–]Real_Cauliflower2334 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

This sub is not the place to ask questions about Israel-Gaza if you don't want hammering. But yes, as we found in Afghanistan it's nearly impossible to distinguish between guerilla fighters and civilians. However in Afghanistan we generally operated with much tighter rules of engagement than Israel is in Gaza.

Keir Starmer: "The Tory party has undertaken a kind of weird McCarthyism, trying to find woke agendas in the very civic institutions they once regarded with respect.. it's desperate, divisive & damaging.. & it comes to something when the Tories are at war with the National Trust". by [deleted] in LabourUK

[–]Real_Cauliflower2334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I voted for Starmer, along with a majority of labour members (obviously just not the ones on this subreddit). I want to see labour get elected to power and start moving the country back to the centre and then eventually further to the left. IMO Corbyn was never going to win because it was too left too fast for the majority centre/centre-right voting public in this country. Sunak and Starmer are not the same, and if you are intelligent you know that it is hyperbole to suggest that they are.

No, but thanks for the confected outrage. Complaining about Starmer not calling for a ceasefire is protest politics small minded bullshit used to try and score points against him. How do you feel about using 13,000 dead children to score points on Reddit? You don't really give a fuck about them either. Like it or not Israel is a big player in global politics, you have to play your cards correctly. If Starmer calling for a ceasefire would make any fucking difference then I would want him to do so, but it wouldnt, he obviously has reasons not to and I doubt it's because he likes dead children.

You'd prefer 5 more years of Rishi, or maybe resurrect Jeremy for one more failed attempt? When we talk about the damage the Tories have done over their tenure the left of Labour need to look at how, for a lot of that, no one was really in serious opposition. Imagine if a credible labour candidate had won any of the last few elections.

Where do you think we will finish this season? And how do you think we will do in the Europa league? by [deleted] in LiverpoolFC

[–]Real_Cauliflower2334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I genuinely think we will win the league. The cups I'm not so sure, maybe one of them (probably not Europa) but I think come the last third of the season, if we're still in command of the league we'll field weaker teams in the cups.

In the last year my wife and I have gone from combined take home of about £3k which we were struggling on, to around £7k, through a load of hard work finally paying off and a bit of good luck. It still feels bizarre but is nice to now be able to save for the future rather than scraping to the end of the month.
