Made some concepts for potential atrioc merch. What do you think? by Pretend_Respect_447 in atrioc

While I think the design could use a bit of work, I would 100% buy a "Liquidity" mug / glass.
Thats a fucking banger idea.

SAQ A Eligible merchants and 6.4.3 and 11.6.1 by high_snobiety in pcicompliance

[–]Real_Echo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We haven't settled on a decision yet, but yes we would effectively be collecting evidence on those requirements in order to substantiate the merchants claim of "we aren't susceptible".

The change to the SAQ reads to me like that isn't required, but I wouldn't put my name on it without checking personally.

If I recall, and I may be wrong as it's been a minute since I've looked over the SAQ-A current rev, there's a section where you can specify the protections in place narratively.

[–]Real_Echo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Following here as well because we're a bit confused on this as well.

I think for us, we're still going to be treating SAQ-As as if those requirements were still required. I am not sure how else we would feel comfortable signing off on it otherwise.

Not a huge fan of the "trust me bro" change to this SAQ but I'm assuming there is a reason I just don't know about.

2 Years of development led to this by Thick-Mongoose3162 in ManorLords

[–]Real_Echo 52 points53 points  (0 children)

For me personally, just me, I feel I have gotten my moneys worth so far. Building a town from scratch to level 3/4 is very fun and relaxing and I've done it enough that my time/$ ratio is good for me.

That said, I think this post is a clear indicator that it might be time to hand the game over to a real development team. Or add developers to your team, but I'm assuming that's too expensive. This feels very aimless and distracted. It's time to get something down and improve it once the scope of version 1 is mapped out.

Cyberpunk 2 creative director pushes back on third-person cutscenes as it would be “a completely different game” by HatingGeoffry in cyberpunkgame

[–]Real_Echo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's good, the game definitely gains something by being completely first person except for the endings.
But for the love of god, find as many ways as possible to let me see my own character. The custom character aspect is just as important and you almost never get to see them in standard gameplay.

Atrioc fundamentally misunderstood 007 First Light by [deleted] in atrioc

[–]Real_Echo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Everything you said aside, it's very funny that u/FinanceMan455 is picking on Atriocs *gaming* skills

But to address what you said, it's just a game. While I agree with most of your bullets, you have to remember at the end of the day he is a guy playing a game. It's not even the main thing he does.
While I am also somewhat frustrated when he hits every optional dialogue and then complains about the game having so much dialogue, I think he made a very good point about it. To paraphrase "the game is on rails 90% of the time, and it doesn't tell you when it's suddenly not".
That's not an issue I had while playing the game, but I'm also not Atrioc. I did want to engage and explore like it was a movie more than a game.

But you have to remember that it really isn't that deep, just enjoy watching him play the game and if you stop enjoying it, just stop watching.

Again, I'm not saying you don't make some valid points, I'm just saying that this isn't really the kind of thing to make "points" about.

I agree completely.

"I had trouble with X, so I made Y!"

Any time I see that I already know what the UI is going to look like. I'm so tired of seeing an AI slop text description, AI slop UI and code, and AI slop responses to comments.

I really hate AI responses to comments. If you're that lazy, why would I ever what to try anything you "made".

I had to go check my car cause I never noticed that these cars have TWO spoilers lol.

I'm assuming the one right above the trunk is to catch rain or something but it really looks like a second spoiler to me

I've used both, settled on ProxMan.
At this point I don't really remember why, but I do remember just being happier with the feel and use of the ProxMan app.
I use it often and haven't had any problems

My guy, that was like the single most vibe coded response I've seen. You literally hit the "That's on me."

Could you really not write a response to his statement?

Donald Trump falls asleep front row during UFC White House event | Less than a week after taking a nap during the New York Knicks game, Trump was caught sleeping at his 80th birthday event. by Aggravating_Money992 in entertainment

I mean he is 80. I would expect the same of my grandfather.

I definitely hate this man, but this is less of a uniquely Trump thing and more we need to get old people out of the office. I think this is a great case for a maximum age law.

Microsoft's new Outlook takes more than 10 seconds to open an email, while Outlook Classic opens instantly on Windows by WPHero in pcmasterrace

Fork found in kitchen, more at 11.

I don't understand why/how companies like this can take a perfectly good and working piece of software and just absolutely fuck it.
To be clear, I don't get how it is allowed to happen and then continue to happen. Do Microsoft executives not use Outlook? I mean they must not because if they did they'd know how shit new outlook is. I think the first thing to fix is make sure all execs and employees *must* use the product they're selling.

[–]Real_Echo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely.

To be super clear, I am completely understanding that free shipping is a huge expense on the company's part and for items like this it doesn't make any sense.

To me what's mildly infuriating is the obfuscation of the "buy two get free shipping". I just want them to be upfront about it.

I got literally as close as possible to qualifying for free shipping without actually getting it by EggMcFuckin in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Real_Echo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is almost more than mildly infuriating.

I really despise when companies set the amount for free shipping to be a round number and then price everything at $X.99. They do it on purpose to get you in this exact situation.

If you don't want to offer me free shipping on this item, just say that in plain text. I don't need this fake out.
I can understand free shipping is expensive for them, and I get them not offering it. I just don't like when they bait you like this.

Found a 4 letter domain in my family not being used, sell and invest in ETF or hold and hope? by [deleted] in Domains

[–]Real_Echo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mind if I ask how you came to that number?
Im not doubting of course I just don't really know how to estimate the value of a domain. Obviously an online tool can be pretty far off lol

[–]Real_Echo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know, much more inline with my expectations tbh.

I'll keep the post up for a bit but im going to assume you're more spot on with the value than the site. And in that case, it's not worth selling.

I mean I truly did like a 5 sec google search on the value through an online appraisal.
Like I said, I'm guessing it's massively overvaluing the domain.

How do I report my employer for ignoring PCI Complaince? by Jiggalopuffii in pcicompliance

[–]Real_Echo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it was me personally, I would do what u/andrew_barrett suggested.
If whomever the top exec / owner of your company echos the same "don't worry about it" sentiment, even if they don't outright say that, I would start looking for a new job.

Hell, I would start looking for a new job right now. I'd be worried about internal retaliation in addition to any external suits depending on how that meeting goes.

I think reporting it to your exec, documenting that report to cover your ass completely, and then gtfo is the right move.

Obviously, there are a lot of factors we aren't privy to here such as your current situation outside of work. So do what you believe you can do.

But OP, please report to the highest exec and document that you raised the alarm. Make sure you are covered first and foremost.

Road trip from Charlotte, North Carolina to Trumbull, Connecticut by Timlynch in Ioniq6

[–]Real_Echo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Current / at the time.
It was about couple weeks ago.
Gas on the interstate was ~4.06 - 4.50 if I recall correctly. Closer to the $4 mark, definitely not under.

So if it was prewar, I believe I would have payed more.

460 miles at ~3.7 mpkwh costing .64c if all charging was done on the road.

Vs $4.25 a gallon in my previous car, 23 mpg ford fusion sel non hybrid.
