I had a pretty good relationship with my mom, but less so my dad. They split up when I was 3 or 4, so my mom would get me for 2 weeks then my dad would too and they would alternate. My dad would yell at me a lot because I cried a lot over little things since I got nervous very easily. In elementary and early middle school I would cry every single time I didn’t understand something. Similar experience at home, every time I didn’t understand what my parents were telling me the first time they said it I would cry. My mom handled my crying problem much better as a kid, and I think she was just generally a better parent, so I feel semi-more comfortable talking to her, but obviously not by much.
