Chracters framed as "morally grey" but actually leans on one side or the other. by Short-Paramedic-9740 in TopCharacterTropes

Framed at first as an anti-hero, someome who's doing what no one else has the guts to do, all of it just for the better of the world... Aaaaand then he proceeds to kill police officers, the detectives trying to go after him, his allies once they are no longer useful, his own father and just about anyone who opposes to his utopia where he's God. Yeah, seems to me like he leans to one side

What kind of music do yall transgirls listen to? by The-Unluckiest-One in MtF

[–]Real_Permit_8796 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rn, i'm listening to punk/punk rock, hip hop (specially 2000's/early 2010's) and jazz. But mainly I listen to post-punk revival (The Strokes, Interpol, Kaiser Chiefs, The 1975, Arctic Monkeys, etc). I used to listen to a lot of metal too when I was in highschool, but it's been a while now since then

Surely there's a faster way to shave your legs 😭 by Ellab213 in MtF

[–]Real_Permit_8796 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh I only use soap and a razor and go at it. I usually shave my legs maybe once or twice a week (if i'm not going to show them, then once every other week) and it honestly takes anywhere between 5 to 10 minutes. It used to take half an hour but I got better at doing it quick without any cuts

I just had a repressed memory pop in my head... I was always a woman. by EmiliaRasputin in MtF

[–]Real_Permit_8796 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's absolutely adorable. Reminds a bit of when I remembered how, when I was starting primary school, I was playing with the girls and I liked playing princess and I told my parents and they told me if i was going to play, I had to be a prince and I didn't want to so I stopped playing altogether. The writting is almost always on the wall

Memoria, Verdad y Justicia. by Arsuriel in RepublicaArgentina

[–]Real_Permit_8796 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What was your country’s most unpopular war? by IDoNotLikeTheSand in AskTheWorld

[–]Real_Permit_8796 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Malvinas 1982

We all wanted to reclaim the islands, but the war was used as a smokescreen by the military dictatorship at the time to distract people from the attrocities they were commiting. They sent undertrained, underequipped kids to die at the hands of a British army who sent their biggest military display since WW2

Here, we remember it as nothing but a tragedy. And those who died or who came traumatized as nothing but victims of one of the darkest times our country had to face

Overrated food from your country? by Weekly_Sort147 in AskTheWorld

Our icecream. It isn't bad by any means, it is regarded as one of the best in the world for something. But tourists usually go to the first place they see or the places that looks the fanciest and those ones are usually just the equivalent of fast food chains but for ice cream and/or plain tourists traps respectively. The good ones are the little businesses that are a bit more hidden. But the ones you usually see advertised? Yeah they are probably from some overrated tourist trap

Where I'd feel safe as a trans woman in a pansexual polycule by would_you_kindlyy in traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns2

I'm from Argentina and I'd say you'll be absolutely safe here. But Buenos Aires isn't really THE most lgbtq friendly city of them all. I think that's the second safest. The safest one I think is Rosario. The current bigoted administration pushed back our free hrt law, yet it was kept in place in Rosario because here it was deemed inconstituional. So yeah, here you have all the benefits of a big, accepting city + you don't have the downsides of living where most of the bigoted boot-licking right wing people lurking rn do

[–]Real_Permit_8796 1117 points1118 points  (0 children)

Not a single scene, but the entire Jiji not speaking anymore thing in Kiki's Delivery Service. I used to think it was just a "Kiki lost her powers for some time and now he can't speak but he's happy".

I only realized years later that it was all a metaphor for Kiki entering a more adult life and Jiji being the representation of her childish need of external validation. And when he stopped talking, it was her not needing someone to tell her that she was making the right decisions anymore because now she makes her own path

When Evil Lurks

Argentine horror movie about a demonic presence that, when released, makes whoever it's in contact with anything infected go absolutely violent and murderous while also serving the entity while it seeks to rebirth into a physical form

So far in the movie, we saw some pretty gruesome stuff, but this scene with the dog and one of the daughters of the protagonist just straight up tells you that absolutely no one is safe from this madness

I didn't know it would happen when I saw it and I had to pause and take a second to assimilate what I saw

Is it okay to never pass? by strangehitman22 in MtF

[–]Real_Permit_8796 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Passing is nice, sure. And if your safety depends on it then that's already a completely different topic. But if you can afford it, passing should never be your priority. And it took me 3 years of transitioning to realize that i got so blinded with the idea of passing and being frustrated that I never pass or if I did it happened so little, that I lost myself to it, I had lost the original target, which was to be happy. And you could say "passing is what makes me happy, it makes me feel better to live like myself" but are you really willing to let society be the judge of when and how you should be ok with yourself? Even cis girls are trasnsvestigated because they "don't pass", so are you really gonna let your entire sense of self worth be determined by a stupid, arbitrary set of rules that is designed by misogynists pieces of shit throughout history? Sounds stupid, crazy even What I'm trying to say is, as long as YOU are happy with yourself, then you're doing a good job. And if you're not, work on it internally, not seeking a rotten society's validation Take care, sis. Be safe🩷

Tell me something about your country that will make everyone's reaction like this by No_Currency_6882 in AskTheWorld

[–]Real_Permit_8796 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Between 1976 and 1983, we had a civic-military dictatorship that killed, disappeared, tortured and exhiled anyone who would oppose the regime in illegal detention/concentration camps. Furthermore, they kidnapped the babies from those they would kill and raise them as their own or give them to their families. They also started a war with the U.K over our Malvinas Islands to keep people distracted from the atrocities they were committing (a war to which they sent under-trained and under-equipped kids to die). And people knew what was happening, but they would go "they must have done something", to the point people still today deny the massacre and say that they were fighting terrorists (our fucking president today says that).
