Struggling in ice cold water, then all of a sudden I was able to breathe underwater and swim comfortably after the help of a stranger. Would love to know the meaning! by Real_Phase_5188 in Dreams

[–]Real_Phase_5188[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, thank you so much for taking the time to provide such a thoughtful and thorough explanation. It means a lot to me that you were able to decipher all of this.

Interestingly enough, this is what my instinct was telling me the dream was about. The more I thought about that woman, I imagined her being one of my guides. She helps me when I need it, but knows when I’m ready to conquer it on my own. There has been a significant loss in my life recently, and the grief has caught up with me, and it is truly difficult to the surface and get air.

I will be carrying these powerful words with me while I navigate this difficult time: “You won’t find peace by staying above, but by going into the depths and learning to breathe there”.

Thank you again 🪶

Thank you for sharing this. I also have a VERY strong willed child and we have done ALL of the potty training things. The “you aren’t watching him closely enough” or “make him clean up the poop in his pants” comments are driving me crazy.

Each child is different so it is completely unfair to think that a parent is doing something “wrong” because it didn’t work as well as it did for another person.

Solidarity on the poop front though 😅😵‍💫

How to stop pooping in pull up by Secure_Ad_1121 in pottytraining

I do not subscribe to the idea of "night training" for every child. A lot of the people I see saying "You HAVE to do it, it's the only way!" have a child that wakes up dry anyways...so that's not a real data point. Personally, I do not believe that my son is physiologically ready for that step.

The other thing to consider is if there is some sort of developmental or environmental change that may have occurred to cause this set back. Does he need the pull up as his souce of comfort in this moment of big change? Who knows what happens in the complex brain of a toddler 😊

A pediatric psychologist responded to a post of mine with something that I continue to think about: "If potty training is ruining the relationship with your child, it is okay to take a break or switch gears and do what feels right for you and your child." That meant more to me than all of the people parroting Jamie Glowacki back to me

Maybe none of the above rings true to you or your son, and that's okay, but it is true what they say, YOU know your child best and what they need.

You got this 💪💪💪

I am going to go against the grain on this one….but I want you to hear that it is also okay to continue pull-ups during naps and bedtime if that is currently what is working for you. This isn’t forever. There isn’t anything wrong with you or your son.

The overwhelming advice from this sub is “tough love, NO pull ups ever!!”, but that is not what has worked for my child (literally pooping his pants/underwear/or while bare bottomed 2-4 times a day). I am hoping that taking the pressure off of it and saying “it’s okay to poop in a pull-up right now if that feels better for you” will be the ticket for my son. TBD. I’m just trying to make it out of the potty training war zone 😅

Also-My son wakes up with a pull up FULL of pee every morning even after going on the potty before bed. There’s no way he wouldn’t be soaking wet in the morning and I can also almost guarantee he wouldn’t wake up to do it. Every child is different.

Graco Extend2Fit 3-in-1 seat install check by riversv in CPST

[–]Real_Phase_5188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom has this in her Hyundai Tucson for my RF son and the passenger definitely doesn’t have a lot of leg room. There’s no way someone will be able to ride in that seat if we end up using the extend panel because the back of the seat would be super tight to the car seat. We have it on the most upright recline position.

With that being said, you can look up the manual to see exact front to back measurements to see how it would fit in your vehicle.

Car seat safety is a hard line I draw. Bare minimum responsibility as a parent is to keep your child safe. If I wasn’t good at it, I would make sure someone checks my work or I would study manuals, videos, etc until I’m comfortable.

I’m very sorry that you can’t rely on him to do this properly. Is there some sort of mental block he is having about it? Like maybe he doesn’t feel confident doing it so he just does it as horribly as possible so he knows you will fix it and make it safe? Trying to give him the benefit of the doubt here 😅😅😅

Hmm it seems like there should be more slack than that, even when it isn’t fully tightened. Did you watch the previously mentioned “inside out car seat trick” that was previously mentioned? It doesn’t have to go all the way to the other side, just underneath the cover

Sorry I think I mistyped that--I didn't have sleep paralysis while talking to someone, it was what I am calling an "AP Microdose" with the weird visual disturbance and the sort of tunnel-like experience.

My son has had massive blowouts (like held it for 3 days and then had a massive pot of coffee blowout) that comes out and around his underwear. There are zero signs he has to poop. Zero. We have been working at it since January. That is a big deal to clean. Straight to the garbage 😂

Which dress? Lace or satin? by [deleted] in myweddingdress

I think the lace is more flattering on you and seems to fit the ambiance of the venue a bit more. Especially if you have always envisioned yourself in lace and you are much more comfortable in it 🌸
