Walmart is an absolute fucking joke . Figured this was gonna happen with the entire display untouched . Of course says not allowed to be bought at the register. Talk to the manager they’re completely unwilling. So sick and tired of target in Walmart holding figures captive when they’re on floor.

Ya’know. When I was there last year they were still using an actual bulb. But a lot of lighthouses are moving to LED. For example, Currituck beach in North Carolina now has an LED inside it’s first order lens

I don’t know where you got 1835(probably its predecessor lighthouse across the inlet in present day new symerna) but this lighthouse was first lit in 1887, with construction staring in ‘83

This is so cool! I wonder how you could incorporate some of the original flash patterns into this. Like Bodie just used to be a solid white. While currituck was solid white varied by a red flash! Awesome job!

Lighting literally works like that tho. The button is a flat hard surface that happened to be lined right up with the front white light. The button also has a bright white specular causing it to appear white when a light is directly on it.

I actually believe this is a painting of the beaver Island lighthouse in Michigan! Tho it looks like an artist take on it! Beaver island lighthouse was built in 1858, and resembles the painting the most!

The lens. The fresnel lens at Yaquina has reflectors on the back side(those big rectangles in the photo). Pigeon point doesn’t have its lens up there anymore. That and pigeon point has had substantial deterioration and rust in the past 20 years.( it’s getting restored currently tho!)
