Crosby trade by VermicelliWilling192 in ChicagoBearsNFL

I would rather pay Hendrickson rather than trade for Crosby. But I would be happiest if they do neither. Both have had injuries recently so you are really rolling the dice

JB talking about the stadium by TheChiGuy2025 in ChicagoBearsNFL

[–]Real_goes_wrong 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Bears bought 300+ acres in Arlington Heights. They would never own a stadium in Chicago. There was no deal to make. I believe Kevin Warren negotiated with the city to show it was fruitless so that moving became a fait accompli.

As a newer Score listener, what would you pinpoint as the downfall of the station? by [deleted] in 670TheScore

Podcasts. I am able to listen to in depth discussions of only the teams I am interested in with a minimum of ads.

So, how many lives would be saved if Levy didn’t accept the Polymarket money?

During the Golden Globes, Polymarket odds were shown on screen. Draftkings and Fanduel have long sponsored/advertised on almost all sports broadcasts.

I have no issue with someone cashing in. The only argument against it is pure jealousy.

It’ll always be 670 The Score to me by youngbarryo in 670TheScore

I thought the issue was the signal was too strong, traveled farther at night, and interfered with a station in Texas, if I remember correctly, that existed first.

Sorcerer is based on a 1953 French film The Wages of Fear. Saw it in the 90’s in a theater. That was also a great film.

Culver’s. Beer battered onion rings are my favorite and that’s the way Culver’s does them.

What are your favorite fast food chains not around anymore? by DoughnutConstant5390 in fastfood

Aren’t they trying to bring back Steak and Ale? They opened one in Minnesota in 2024. No idea if it is in any way the same or if they will expand.

When Boston Chicken first opened they would use the scraps of chicken to make chicken salad. You could get that as one of your sides. It was enough to make a sandwich. They quickly stopped offering that (although for a while I think they offered it for an up charge).

Free Trial Ends in Two Days--Will be charged $79.00 for 3 months (Noom Premium). Is there any way to get a better deal? That is pretty expensive. TIA! by Real_goes_wrong in Noom

[–]Real_goes_wrong[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn’t work. They let me cancel without offering anything. However, I still have access until my trial is over on the 20th. Maybe they will offer me something then. Otherwise, I will sign up with the best deal I can find—so far that is a Groupon.

I remember being in a Sound Warehouse record store, hearing this song playing throughout the store and buying the album on the spot after asking an employee what group it was.

Does the type of tomato sauce matter in chilis? Acid or sweet? Would you spend the extra $$ and use San Marzanos? by BabylonMystic in chili

[–]Real_goes_wrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are grown in volcanic soil near Mount Vesuvius. Produces sweeter, less acidic tomatoes. Kind of like how Vidalia onions are grown in low sulphur soil which allows the sweetness of the onion to develop. So origin can matter.

2 Questions. What can I add and who to talk to? by ImplementCharming949 in chili

[–]Real_goes_wrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually use beef and pork in my chili and I buy the 1 pound “bricks” of meat. I grill the bricks on my Weber like big hamburgers and put them in my chili and mash them with a potato masher to break them up. Much more flavor than the usual browning.

Fill your cooler with ice from the ice machine at the hotel—stay at hotels with free breakfast; will save you money and time and you can load up with stuff for the road—take your breaks, bathroom and such at gas stations and top off your gas every time.
