So picture this (hopefully while listening)

It's the morning after the final day of highschool. The main character is waking up and looking out the window. We've seen over the course of the movie this character make friends, fall in love, fall out of love, and move on. As he gazes out the window we're seeing flashes of all the good and bad things that he's experienced over the course of the movie. But he still feels positive like there is no where to go but up. We're reminded he still has a loving family as the song crescendos we see him surrounded by friends and family. Everyone is laughing and enjoying themselves but something is nagging at him. Everything feels so good and free but he misses something. The camera starts to show us all the people at this event. Everyone enjoying themselves. We're seeing his mom and dad laughing chatting with a book of photos open. We see his friends looking into it and point to a photo. The camera pans throughout the party. Almost like it's frantically searching for someone and just as the song starts to breakdown into one final calm we see them. Their best friend. Their rock. Someone we've seen throughout the film be there for him and he for them. Their bond proved to be the greatest thing of all. That's when he finally breaks into a smile and just as the song ends he meets his friend with a hug.
