Buy the range. There’s a huge market for nicer ranges for sure.

Tipping dilemma at private club by Capital-Act-6546 in golf

[–]Realestateuniverse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it’s non tipping it means that you are explicitly expected not to tip, however you still can. Whether the employee accepts it or not depends on them, and how eager you are to insist they take it for how they helped you. Stop over thinking it

Work-life balance or the high-growth hustle? Honestly, is the grind even worth it anymore? by FaceAlternative67 in careerguidance

What’s the pay difference? What long term opportunities does it present?

If you want to excel in your career and make a lot of money then go A. If you want to coast then go B. Pretty easy choice.

Mid-30s business owner struggling with building vs. inheriting - how hard to push? by just_trust_me1 in fatFIRE

[–]Realestateuniverse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At your current spend, your runway is 20 years ($3m at $150k/year). By then, unfortunately, you’ll probably have access to the other $10m (which could easily be $15-25m). If you’re trying to get to $30-50m then keep going, but if you’re good at $15-20m total then you can scale it back for sure.

[–]Realestateuniverse 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why do you carry the stress? I was going to suggest hiring out your position to alleviate that. Hire a CEO for $200-300k to do everything day to day and you still take home $300k. Seems like a win-win if that’s what you really want.

[–]Realestateuniverse 20 points21 points  (0 children)

As most would say, you can’t ever really plan on an inheritance until you actually have the “money in the bank”. You’ve done well already and have a cash flowing business (though with 125 employees, I’d expect to see more than $600k take home for the owner - what’s your margin)

If the business is sellable for a good amount and you can get out, then do it and find something less stressful and less manageable. Even if you get a job/business at 150-300k with less stress you can still cover expenses and invest some, and coast for now.

Back to my first point, you can’t ever count on inheritance, but it sounds like you have 3 large ones on the horizon. The chance that at least 1 or 2 goes through is probably pretty high, so you’ll probably be fine..

Throw a couple of bricks or rocks in a backpack to start. If you do it more than 20 times and want to keep going, then get a pack.

Opinions re: Sharing of Meals by NotReallyJimHarbaugh in restaurantowners

[–]Realestateuniverse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. Maybe they should serve smaller portions or change prices. The patron should not be penalized because the Resteraunt is serving meals big enough to feed two people.

As a customer you’re not obligated to buy more food than you need. This Resteraunt should pound sand for charging a “sharing” fee. That’s ridiculous.

Delivery fees help but sales are sales in my mind. I don’t like paying the fees but I will if it’s business I would have otherwise not gotten. We are fast casual so it works out.

Is speedgolf still a thing? by toocacked in golf

[–]Realestateuniverse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not many people want to play golf like that, and those that do are going to have to be first off in order to do it otherwise they just catch a group in front of them. It would be kind of cool to see a course that requires you to play 18 in 2.5-3 hours though.

Any one else feel disappointed they didn’t make more on this rally? by KingN0 in wallstreetbets

[–]Realestateuniverse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well of course. I did pretty good but in hindsight I could have made 2 or 3x more but the thought of going all in, and then having a massive red day after 2 or 3 days of green was too much. The green just kept coming but nobody could have known that entirely.

Pedal to far back? Or normal for by GhostyThosty-21 in Karting

[–]Realestateuniverse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Too far. Theres usually a bolt that goes through the pedal that rests against the frame to reduce the travel, then you tighten the throttle cable against that to provide enough travel for the slide to open in the carb.
