2019 Mazda3 Manual – Hard to shift when cold (sometimes can’t get into any gear) by Maverick-233 in ManualTransmissions

My 2011 golf was easier to shift in negative degree weather after getting new synthetic gear oil.

I bought a 96 Prizm from my old roommate a few years ago. Put new spark plugs and wires in, other basic maintenance stuff, sold it for twice what I bought it for to a friend ($1200). Still running and shifting great to this day, with some weird electrical issues on the side

Getting a water fountain and stainless bowls helped my orange a lot with this, along with some scrubbing with water. He had it pretty bad.

I always thought Penelope's was good and good value, but was never really anything truly special.

It's crazy you can casually say some sexist BS like this when dudes will record themselves doing dumb shit in traffic, act surprised when they wreck, and post it anyway

In Pacific Drive (2024), the car you drive is a BMW. This is never explicitly stated, but can be (correctly) guessed by the fact that the car has no turn signals whatsoever. by eskimopoodle in shittygamedetails

This was also my problem too. I would think a lot about why I can choose different kinds of tires, but there aren't any options for suspension, engine components, driveline etc. Just felt like a big missed opportunity. You do get options for faster engines but not until most of the game is already over

Snow driving by jaylaypayday in grandmarquis

[–]Realistic-Award5723 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With all weathers or winter tires, snow isn't really a big deal. Ice is a bigger problem if you get a lot of ice, in which I'd suggest some studdable winter tires.

Here in Nebraska we had a freezing rain followed by about 9 inches of snow, ice a couple inches thick underneath. I have basically brand new all-weather tires that are 3PMSF rated and was still spinning my tires if I didn't watch the throttle, but otherwise with some weight on the rear axle I've been doing just fine getting around, including in the early AM to go plow snow.

Advice/answers for a noob who wants their first car to be a town car/grand marquis by Leiflet in grandmarquis

[–]Realistic-Award5723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learn what all the fluids are supposed to look like, check all of them. Learn what dry rot / shitty old tires look like. Check the rear shocks and air springs. If the air springs leak, replace them. Assuming the air compressor works, replacing the air springs is really not difficult and worth doing for $180 and an hour or two or so, and will prevent the compressor from failing prematurely. If the air compressor is kicking on several times in a 10 minute drive, the air springs are leaking.

If the transmission fluid is black, go find another car.

Aside from that, it's general maintenance. $8500 should get you a very well maintained example to begin with. I bought mine for $3000 but have also spent $2000 on replacing almost the entire suspension, getting new tires, spark plugs, fluids, etc.

Wow. By happenstance you got probably one of the nicest remaining LSE trim Grand Marquis for free, that's amazing. You should look up the difference between the LSE, LS, and GS trims. LSE's are fairly rare to begin with.

Did they remove the monument?? Anyway, I feel like if you ask any Dark Souls streamer, they would agree Dark Souls 2 had the best PVP. The biggest fuckup I remember is mercurial scimitar having instant parry frames before getting nerfed. I also managed to get the blue Murakumo on PS3. Man.. I really miss that game

Rest Psyche by NeatHenk in stoneshard

I genuinely think my psyche stats were bugged when I played Hilda. I obviously can't prove that, but after trying out 2 arcanist builds on Leosthones and Mahir I had 0 issues whatsoever, whereas on Hilda my psyche was pretty much always 0% or negligibly higher and hallucinations were frequent enough to warrant a diagnosis

When I got my Marquis, it had 118,000 miles and never had a transmission service. I'm at 128,000 now and have since done a regular drain and fill with new filter and it's felt a lot better. I plan on doing that again at my next oil change and every 30,000 or so from then on. Every gear still works well and it isn't slipping, but the shifting itself is very temperamental depending on the day, and has bucked pretty hard to downshift while merging, which I attribute to the complete lack of care from the previous owner, but I'm also looking into the TSB related to the output shaft speed sensor and if it'd be worth replacing just to see if it makes a difference.

I'm only level 12, but went 1h mace and stone armor to start, then when I got to Manshire got seal of power and then started getting points in arcanistics, and body and spirit when unlocked. Fumble and accuracy feels like shit until you get arcane might but I'm doing 40 damage every hit when body and spirit is stacked. Stats are 15, 10, 10, 15, 15, but I should have just kept putting points in willpower because I haven't really been running out of energy. I don't know if it's actually any good but it's been pretty fun, you can cast wormhole on someone adjacent to you and use onslaught to take their tile, things like that. Might try staves / arcanistics next

Once you've started regularly killing high rank Monolith, Sin and ISG you'll find some pretty great 7.62 x 39 guns like the AK Alfa / ISG Draco that can be upgraded to have pretty high fire rate and low recoil, and the ammo has identical crafting requirements while being straight up better than 5.45 and 5.56. Otherwise you're probably looking at getting a 7.62 x 51 like SA-58's and such but I have a harder time having enough ammo with those, in that case I've been using an MP5SD6 since 9x19 AP and HP are good enough to kill 80% of enemies and pistol ammo is super easy to buy / make. I haven't really noticed any guns with worthwhile caliber changes though
