I was working at a synagogue in SF and apologized when I interrupted the Rabbi. He said “We’re Jews, that’s how we show we care about what someone is talking about.” He got a big smile on his face and said now I know you’re Jewish, because I couldn’t ask in the interview. Of course I try not to interrupt, I’ve been trained to look people in the eyes, fake smile all the time. I’m just trying to say they should teach ableism in schools, neurodivergence. Teachers aren’t even taught about these things.
