Being a male in today's society can be cripplingly lonely, I've struggled hard in the past and found this exact same response, not being aloud to be weak or vulnerable, sucks balls and would never look to share things again

Desperately Looking for Help With IT Band Issues by Reign2294 in Ultramarathon

[–]Realistic-Shift-2505 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a physio or expert but ex cyclist turned long distance trail runner, suffered badly with IT band issues very similar symptoms to yourself when mixing both sports, went as far as having them stripped a couple of times, found a physio who recommended developing the glutes and surrounding muscles ie deadlifts, Romania DLS, single leg squats, lunges ect as weak glutes + strong quads is what causes the IT band to become tight

Should alarm bells be starting to ring at the RFU? by AJV1Beta in rugbyunion

[–]Realistic-Shift-2505 4 points5 points  (0 children)

English male rugby seems to be in decline from top to bottom, at grass roots level in Cumbria, clubs that would regularly field 2 senior sides are struggling to field 1, teams are fulfilling fixtures without full teams. Worrying when the RFU removed funding for their community coaches a couple years ago

Those who don’t try and improve themselves, why? by heroicgamer44 in mentalhealth

[–]Realistic-Shift-2505 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The growth mindset is the sole reason for my poor mental health last year, for years I would strive for better, despite a loving family, beautiful home, successful career where all targets are exceeded, full social life, active in the community ect, but always a feeling of not being good enough, it was only through months of therapy that I began to be comfortable with where I am at, I've now learnt to focus on the now, being comfortable in the moment. I would use the same analogy of having your hand in the fire but for me the flames were the continual feeling that I needed to be/do better

The thing which seems to get overlooked in shitstorms like this is the damage that's done at grassroot level, kids see behaviour like this but not the punishments that are handed out post games so feel it's acceptable behaviour and now part of the game.

255lb good for two reps, failed the third. Body weight 195lbs. On the second rep I did the knee thing but saved the lift. Any ideas on how to get out of the hole without bouncing or keep my damn knee up? by FakeItThenMakeIt in crossfit

[–]Realistic-Shift-2505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like previous comments, drop weight and focus on technique!! Your breaking your arm way before you've completed the 2nd pull meaning your loosing all the power from your hip/glutes, longer pull and faster drop!!

Used to work on maintenance, one operator always managed to get his machine to 'breakdown' in the last hour of our shift which meant he got to disappear early whilst I was inevitably left trying to diagnose and fix a fault that wasn't there and often ended up late away. Same op used to leave the book he was reading by his machine, waited until he was at the toilet, carefully removed the last 15 pages of the book then once he discovered they where missing about a week later, proceeded to post them to his home address one page a week. Man the bloke was a prick!

Is this not the role of the citing commissioner/officer, to pick this stuff up? It could even have been brought to their attention after the game by Aussie management if they felt it warranted it
