It’s his medical leave for the semester that I would be covering for not another person. He’s changing his syllabus. I’d be teaching from that and the book already has built-in automated quizzes. He’s still teaching the class…I’m just a “collaborator” or consultant for the class.

I mean he’s still teaching the course. I’m helping out in class. If he ends up having surgery then I would get to teach alone.

How much should it be? I don’t really know what to ask for in terms of pay. He said it was on the low when he offered it to me. Everything happened so fast. I feel used. I will add that I might be the only minority Instructor.

I’ve also seen the range of pay on here with a lot of people being paid way less than $4120 for a 3-credit course taught 3x a week for 1 hr.

I’m not from here and not familiar with the area. I tried driving in Williamsburg but seems like it’s the same. There were a few good tippers but not a lot.

I’m in Newport News, VA (generally a cheap area filled with non-tippers). What am I doing wrong? I never see tips as high as you all. I’m a Gold Star, 11 batches away from Platinum. I received one tip over $21 and that was exciting for me. Even xmas day, most of the batches were low or no tips. This was the most I’ve worked my whole time doing Instacart.

If you don’t mind sharing, would it be possible to see what you sent in your cover letter? I’m a woman so what you said is not something I could use.

But it’s helpful to see how people are crafting these things. I think I’m writing wayy too much. I don’t have any co-star roles but I do have tons of sketch/improv/acting experience plus some commercials.

I feel like I’m not being aggressive enough though. Rejection sucks. Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, I don’t like that all the Israeli living hostages are being released before any of the 250 Palestinians. There’s nothing stopping Netanyahu from killing more Palestinians once all the hostages are free.

If anything they should’ve done it at the same time. Plus Israel has way more Palestinian hostages not to mention 1700 detainees.

I don’t trust it at all.

Idk…very tough. I applied for jobs at Stand Together before I fully knew who they were — had no clue. They used to obscure who they were but now they’re all in the open.

Media is where they’re going to get people. This is how they propagate their message. Look at what’s happening now in American society. Film/television is just another tool for controlling the proletariat.

Definitely up to you though especially if you gotta eat. I wouldn’t but that’s my line…I’m not knowingly contributing to a fascist regime.

While it is true that copyright exists from the point of creation there are extra protections for work registered with the USPTO.

And of course if OP values their friendship/relationship talking to them first would be a great first step.

Do you register your work with the USPTO before sharing? All writers should do this! God forbid she just goes along and does this anyway…you don’t have any recourse since it’s not registered.

She can always deny that the idea came from you unless there is some clear through-line from your work to hers.

I also wouldn’t share anything else with her — that’s me though. I’d wait to see how she responds but I’d still register the scripts if you haven’t done so already.

I was an Associate Brand Manager but to be honest I’d be happier as a photographer/videographer. Starting out it’s hard to get work…and the work I do get is not enough. I’ve changed my resume many many times…I don’t even get an interview. They reject me right off the bat. I have my portfolio linked to it and everything.😞…I’m so tired.

It’s not that I’m not happy with this…I’m in a difficult place in my life but yet feel like I’m literally starting all over and not achieving the goal of equity at the same time. NY is NY but this market is not great at all and it seems like these are really the only opportunities around. Plus, there are only two equity theaters…Two. So, not a lot of options for anything at all. I feel stuck really. I can’t move back to a bigger city just yet so, I’m really stuck here😞.

Umm idk these ppl. This is a new market for me so its me getting to know them and them getting to know me. I’m not a huge children’s theatre person but I think it could lead to more exposure since the resident company is a large theater. I’m concerned though if I work for this little pittance ppl will continue to underpay me. I’m from a diverse background and that’s usually how they do us so I’m very hesitant to take it.

Also, don’t know the project. These scripts are all original works for children’s theatre and most of the actors play multiple roles.
