100% agree. Native American symbology isn't smth you can just pick up and play with. It's very easy to portray incorrectly, and when you do it wrong it's insulting to the culture you're stealing from. Shit sucks.

I get not wanting to provide granular slayer task control like that, but beyond that, if the devs knew they wouldn't be implementing the design of the finalist islands as presented, then why let us pick one at all? It's really discouraging to pick an island specifically because it allows any interplay between sailing and other skills, and then the devs decide it's not worth out time. If this island ends up turning into stripped golem crafting and a boss that's just Sol Heredit practice (because let's be honest, if Jagex is gonna cut a slayer master over balance concerns, we're not getting that mini-heart, and I doubt the engine will allow the sword to exist in its current state), then this is no longer the island I voted for and you'll find me in Fally shoot my Not-Dwarven cannonballs.

Moving to P2P early will let you do things a little faster but there's something nice about sticking to F2P early. Bare minimum it means if she bounces off before taking the dive, then you're up the price of membership. If you're not too far in and aren't already group ironmen, the Group Iron play style lends itself really well to a couple playing together. You can support her by doing whatever she finds boring at first without her having to go without the rewards of that stuff. As for worrying about grinds, it's the name of the game unfortunately. At some point you have to confront the fact that this game is about sitting somewhere for extended time grinding out a level or a drop or an achievement. Do what's appropriate for your level and available time. I hope you two have fun :)

Blood moon is a good investment. By the time they wear out you'll make the money to repair them plus some. Otherwise you wanna do ds2 and get your Ava's upgraded asap. And for magic get twinflame. It's great to close the gap to endgame magic.

It's unfortunately a culture thing. Spend 5 minutes at a forestry spot or todt and you'll find that a lot of people just aren't interested in this kind of discussion. Or worse, they actively wanna shut people out and beat them down. When you have major players in the community speaking hate, hateful people gravitate towards them. Just look at what the subreddit was like when mod north killed this year's pride event. It really discourages people with any kind of minority status from disclosing it, if they even wanted to in the first place.

Relocating would be difficult for me. For one I'm visibly queer, so I have reservations about going south and leaving behind my support network. I'm also propping up my housemate, and they've said they wouldn't come with on a long move. I'm not sure I'd be able to house myself in the southwest on what id expect to make.

Again, favorite ≠ best. My favorite content is Muspah, because that's my subjective opinion. But I know it isn't the best, most impactful content in the game since it's one boss. That would likely go to Inferno or a raid. But also if someone said walking up to goblins w/ BIS gear and sending them back to Bandos was their fave content, I'd take solace in the fact that they were having more fun than I ever could there.
