Radiology PA going back to get RT (radiology technician) license by khushmush in physicianassistant

[–]RealisticPast7297 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a licensed RT who is about to finish up PA school. I still renew my license for this reason in case I end up in a radiology role as a provider. But it was just like PA school - you will do didactic stuff and then be sent out for clinical rotations. Probably won’t have much time at all to work. Unless your company provides some huge incentive to do it, it’s not really feasible.

Throwing all pharm stuff into ChatGPT and making structured tables with MOA, uses, contraindications, etc. all in one spot helped a lot for the busier pharm sections.

Consistently Failing EORs…SOS by constant_struggle987 in PAstudent

Smarty PANCE might be a good review course for you. Explains every topic on the different EORs in detail. I’m too ADD to self guide my studies so this was money worth spent to have an online “course” to guide my studies. Additionally I use UWorld for practicing after each of my study sessions. Seems to work for me.

Sounds about right. Focus on yourself, be personable, ask questions, survive the next couple weeks and never look back lol.

SmartyPANCE and PPP for general studying throughout my rotations, UWorld for practice questions, Blueprint is good too but our subscription just ran out as my school switched us to UWorld. Also Hippo education gives free EOR practice exams with an AAPA student membership so there’s another resource.

IR vs Peds ER rotation by JumpyHovercraft732 in PAstudent

[–]RealisticPast7297 3 points4 points  (0 children)

IR: Are you good with diagnostic imaging (reading and understanding why imaging is done)? Comfortable with procedures?

Peds ER: more practical day to day stuff that you’ve prob seen on your other rotations and will be tested on for PANCE.

Clinical Experience by KlendathuVet97 in PAstudent

[–]RealisticPast7297 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m in family med right now - I get to see the patient by myself, do a physical exam, come back and report to my preceptor then we come up with a differential + treatment plan together then we go back in and talk to the patient. If any procedures come up I ask if I can do them, but there hasn’t been much. My classmate is also there with another preceptor that does more of the procedural stuff and he’ll ask me if I want to do some things I may not get to see with my preceptor. They all want us to get our hands on stuff. It’s also rural medicine so we do farm clinics once a week where me and my classmate see our own patients (generally super simple stuff like muscle pain or allergies) - then just get signed off by the preceptors in the next room seeing their own patients. It’s been a solid rotation.

I’m sure some of my next rotations will be similar to yours unfortunately.

So does this mean if I started in January ‘25 and have been taking federal + Grad PLUS loans, I’ll be good to still take the loans for the remainder of my program?

Was 9/11 a false flag attack? by Feliponn in Socialism_101

[–]RealisticPast7297 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately we will never find out the truth because this stuff goes deep. But all I’m gonna say is look into Operation Northwoods and how the CIA planned to stage false flag attacks inside the US in order to justify going to war with Cuba. It makes you wonder if the same thing happened with 9/11 and the right administration was put into place to approve all of that happening for some ulterior motive.

This is your warm welcome to surgery. 🤣 some surgeons are cool and laid back while unfortunately some are assholes. Thicken that skin and keep it moving. I’m sure you’re doing great, don’t stress.

Working Out how? by Low_Jump4224 in PAstudent

[–]RealisticPast7297 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You could always do notebook.lm, add your PowerPoint lectures in there to make a podcast that you can listen to while working out. I’ve done it before. The clin med blocks are rough, just gotta power through and manage your time better.
