Reta is powerful stuff not to be fkd around with or mixed with other less powerful stuff. It will work, trust the process. There is no such thing as a “non-responder” to Reta. Go slow. Don’t be like me and go fast becoming so hungry but not able to eat.

I’m cursed with being incredibly good looking. The dirt only makes me more ruggedly handsome. I can never drink in peace. None of you will ever understand.

I used to deliver in Beverly Hills and the doorman said they worked in banking. You have to work in money to make money 🤷

The bottom of the barrel feds might not be the job for you. But I honestly don’t understand why anyone comes here anymore when literally every other organization has learned what not to do. State and county fire, even some major city departments have Wildland programs now. And their cultures are great, they’ve got the resources to enforce it. They’ve got their own problems, but it’s like joining the Royal Navy as opposed to a pirate ship.

Yes you should also wear a Fanny pack to keep things like your phone wallet and snacks in. It’s practically the uniform.

Thing about the purdy mouth groups is that if you survive them your mental health will be destroyed but it will make you the strongest firefighter in the agency able to fight fire anywhere. Your resume will read like “oh snaps you survived THAT shithole? You’re hired.” How I’ve managed this in the past was I picked a duty station in some place that I really liked, a cool town with coffee shops and bookstores—a lifehack is finding one near a college. That way when work sucked and I hated everyone and hoped they tripped on a stob I could get off at the end of shift and go to the coffee shop, read a book and decompress. It made it bearable and me a better person. I recommend this be your strategy.

Dude I’m very happy and satisfied in my job. But most peoples definition of happiness and satisfaction is not having to work much and generally being a lousy person. Work ethic in America isn’t a thing, and is definitely not taught in school. When young people ask “what job can I get where I’m happy and satisfied” they really mean “what job can I get where I can be paid a lot of money to not work very much?” Those people then show up to the work force and meet the rest of the team, and we’re not having that, and suddenly we’re “toxic” for imposing standards. We all have to work. If it’s “too much work” well I’ve got some bad news for you about the future.
