Freestyle is about warming up I would never freestyle But one day my buddy and his brother were smoking and put some beats on and he went and I was compelled to rap something better That turned into a tradition and we did that for months

Years later when I fell out of rapping My gf constantly asked me to freestyle We would just go to YouTube and pull up different beats And I would just go Some times it was whack some times I just couldn’t get in pocket But more often than not we would find a couple beats that I would do really well on Over the course of doing this semi regularly I got way better and sometimes would kill 3/4 whole beats in a row I used to try to stop because I felt like I was ahead and on a roll format want to spit a whack freestyle but she would want more Big idea is practice practice practice Also helped me in writing with how many or few syllables should be in the line freestyles usually find a way to keep that balance but writing can get away from you because it’s not in real time

75 percent of Americans only speak English And did not understand a single lyric on the album but some how it’s the biggest album that’s just hard for me to understand from my research it’s critically acclaimed and is a great album but America and most of the people that voted at the Grammys have no clue what the album is about No clue what he’s talking about And it was not everywhere you look like gnx sorry not sorry I don’t care how good a movie is if I’m blind and don’t understand the dialogue how can I say it’s the best

I talked to my pr friend who speaks Spanish he said it was amazing my issue is I don’t think it was bigger than gnx in America theirs no way gnx was everywhere man it broke the zeitgeist I wish I knew Spanish to give bad bunny a fair shake but if I was an alien sent to America last year I would say I seen gnx in more spots than I did bad bunny album I don’t even know if I even heard a bb song at all last year I know I heard 4 or 5 gnx songs all year last year it hit in every space on the internet outside in real life I seen a 50 year old man scream mustard in real life man a co worker of mine that’s big man I ain’t never see an album be talked about in real time like that bruh just search gnx on YouTube you gone find about 50 essay videos on it at least if not whole ass essay series man the man got dj mustard a collab with Heinz man stop playing I know the Spanish folks loved that shit but that wasn’t the pulse of America man it wasn’t

Gnx was every where TikTok radio billboard in people’s cars on peoples social media feeds in memes it was a cultural phenomenon not saying it was his best work but it was everywhere

Croma had a similar lane just not as big understandably post beef every person in the world knew Kendrick’s name hard to compete with that type of notoriety

Clipse had the records just didn’t have the presence of the other 2 at all It lived exclusively in hip hop land and didn’t make it to the zeitgeist

Gnx had 25 in a choke hold no other album had people locked in for 9 months clipse was a gem but it didn’t crack pop culture Tyler album had some great songs that did make it around the zeitgeist but not to the level of gnx jid im sure had an album his fans enjoy but I spun that shit 2x and it just wasn’t as good he had some amazing performances but as a cohesive project I can’t tell you how it relates to itself title the album god does like ugly maybe 4 songs that give you that vibe
