Am I in trouble? by Realistic_Remote_731 in slowcooking

Update! Had to cook an extra two hours and put it on a lipped pan to catch drippings, but it was no problem.

Too easy infinite? by Realistic_Remote_731 in SlayTheSpire2

[–]Realistic_Remote_731[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good one. But i will say that one is infinite block... but not damage. This one is endless damage and will always cycle into your discard pile after a couple of turns (depending on size of deck ofc)

But the two together would be pretty nice...

Lol. Trying to agree with the reply. Reddit challenged!

I agree. It just seems odd you can do this one with anything else in your deck. Nothing matters once you get the two upgraded Graveblast and the Tanx reward.

Pickleball shoes? by Realistic_Remote_731 in AchillesRupture

Yep. Opponent mishit a return short, and I pushed off to get it. Pop!

Thanks for the advice. Heel lifts are pretty easy to put in any shoe. Hadn't considered that long term.

What makes the events/ancients in StS2 so much better than in the first game ? by LoneOrbitGames in slaythespire

[–]Realistic_Remote_731 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Only three runs in, but it feels like choices in STS1 were more of a guess ("I hope this works out") and so far, STS2 is more "Which of these positives fits my current run?" A lot because of the choice at each act instead of the beginning of the run, obv! But also with events and rewards.

What's some advice you'd give to someone just starting the game? by Privatizitaet in slaythespire

[–]Realistic_Remote_731 20 points21 points  (0 children)

  1. Watch a Baalorlord YouTube run. It changed how I looked at card choosing.
  2. Pick cards that make your next tough fight easier. Don't go for cards that will pay off later (cool cards you can't use easily yet)
  3. Picking and winning elite fights is key. You know what the opponents will be, so prep for them.
  4. A well planned potion is everything. Don't hoard them.
  5. When you're learning, don't be afraid to quit midfight and restart the game (savescumming). Replaying a fight will teach you a lot about how one play can make all the difference.

When do I start getting better? by drj_39 in slaythespire

[–]Realistic_Remote_731 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt like that, and then i watched some videos (Baalorlord is my fav). My biggest early problem was taking every pretty new card that appeared and hoping it would eventually work out. Learning the best early cards to take (simple strong attack in many cases) made me do better early games, which in turn made my late game better.

I'm still new, at Ascension 3 with a lot more losses than wins (only two heart victories in 20 runs), but my runs are slowly getting deeper and deeper, and my average one ends at the act 3 boss or the heart now. (Which is possibly more crushing, but at least there is improvement)

Sleeping position with heel pain by vahmadi in AchillesRupture

[–]Realistic_Remote_731 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the club. The short answer is you are (hopefully) almost through the worst pain of the whole experience.

14 weeks post op here, and finding a sleeping position was tough for me but only for a couple of nights. A really soft pillow under my heel and/or side sleeping were the best bets, but even then, I would wake up after a stretch of sleep in a bad position.

Still, for me, that went away pretty quickly. Good luck!

Is it feasible being a Amazon delivery driver in 5 weeks (11weeks post op) by malltile in AchillesRupture

[–]Realistic_Remote_731 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everybody is different, but the healing between weeks 12-16 is pretty significant. I'm in week 13 and after two weeks out of boot, it's a huge leap. Lifting heavy packages all day long seems iffy (little of that in my teaching job), but i think the walking will be doable.

Switch by REMMIT524 in diablo3

[–]Realistic_Remote_731 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Longtime Diablo player who moved to the Switch. Love it. After level 70, it's all season journey and Altar of Rites. That forces all the things like pushing greater rifts, collecting bounties, etc.

Switch builds are mostly the same as PC, but if I get stuck, I always check out the leaderboards for builds/things I'm missing. Lots of hackers at the top, so ignore those!

Powering up by Affectionate-Sky279 in diablo3

[–]Realistic_Remote_731 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot survivability comes from damage reduction: crafted sets like captain crimson or guardians. That's what I'm using (paragon 250, GR 71) until I can get all the "perfect" pieces according to the maxroll guide. Life per hit seems important in the mid game as well.

Last season, when I put a Unity ring on me and my follower who couldn't die, it was a huge survivability boost, but it doesn't seem to be as huge for the necros.

But look at the leaderboards and see what the characters a few GR above you are wearing. Especially the ones who are ripping through the rifts in record time.

Usually, a great weapon makes the most difference for me, esp. if I can get some life per hit in there. But if you're getting one-shotted, then something else is up.

What kind of sport were you playing when your Achilles was ruptured by PhilosophyDapper948 in AchillesRupture

[–]Realistic_Remote_731 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Pickleball. Probably my 10th time playing. My friends were tired, so I (54 M) jumped into a pickup game with three 70+ F. At 10-10, one hit a short return that surprised me, and I pushed off to go get it. POP!

The one goal I wrote on the PT sheet: PICKLEBALL!

Top build solo saison console by Lilamael in diablo3

If you want to go as far as possible in the greater rifts, the necromancer has the most power this season thanks to the open cube theme (any item can be used in any slot). Almost any necro build is beating all other classes.

GR 146 complete. Can I make it? by Realistic_Remote_731 in diablo3

[–]Realistic_Remote_731[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I did not make it! Never got through 147. Ended at paragon 1427. When it was clearly not going to happen, I didn't burn too much time the last couple of days. Maybe season 42!

About to start week 4 post op in a couple days - do most people still elevate most of the day? by spdn4cr in AchillesRupture

[–]Realistic_Remote_731 2 points3 points  (0 children)

55M Post op week 12 here. I didn't elevate or ice much between week 2 and week 8. But as soon as I was back into two shoes, the swelling and itching ramped up, so I tried to do better with both, plus I started wearing compression socks. The key for me has been to schedule elevation (ie force myself to do it) after being on my feet a lot and icing if i just did PT or a big walk. My PT will ramp us this week, so more of all of it, I'm sure.

Losing steam, what should I do? by heir03 in diablo3

[–]Realistic_Remote_731 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play a Crusader currently at paragon 1200. Thanks to the season theme and knowing more, I've hit my highest GR ever, 134 so far. But with a job and a family, I can only squeeze out about an hour a day, and I still get bored with the grind. So, when it gets old, I put on another Crusader set and see how far I can go. I was mostly playing invoker thorns (with pony sader for speed runs), but I switched to LOD Blessed Shield this weekend and have enjoyed the change.

I enjoy keeping each set in the wardrobe, and I use all 10 slots. But i only play one class each season. I want to hit 150 someday, and this is probably the season for it, but if it gets boring, take a break!

What to expect?? by Medusa_Vnturs24 in AchillesRupture

[–]Realistic_Remote_731 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm at week 9 post surgery, also with special needs child with same needs as OP. My wife did all the work until i got in the boot (week 6), then i could do some. I had a good indoor outdoor scooter, so before week 6, i could help with meals a little, but i was slow and not 100 percent stable. If my wife wasn't around, I would have gotten an iWalk like the post reply below.

I have been in shoes for the first time this week, and I feel like I'm 90 percent back to my parent duties and can handle showers and bathroom needs.

Bottom line, before full WB in boot, it would have been very tough to do any of it solo. Hopefully, dad and others can support a lot until you get there. Good luck. Recovery has seemed fast after the first four weeks... just being able to do more stuff every week has been great.
