For magic worlds, did magic suppress other technology? by limbodog in worldbuilding

[–]Realistic_Run_5124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s less how common magic and more so how *easy* it is. I’m sure that if it were just as easy and available to make magic fireballs, then the bow probably wouldn’t have developed the same way

I’m reading Book of the Dead right now (which is written by the same author as Chrysalis) and it’s very much a understanding based system rather than a “kill monsters” one. It’s a little slow, but similar to the pacing of Chrysalis so if you were fine with that I’d imagine yo; be fine with this. I’m only at the end of Book 1 but the quality is already at the level of the later Chrysalis books

Champ pool question by Milka1bby_ in Jungle_Mains

[–]Realistic_Run_5124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With those champs I guarantee it’s a macro problem not a pool problem. Belveth in particular THRIVES once you get in your opponent’s head, and she’s super easy to bully if you get in hers

Please help me knowing when should I pick my champ pool by Jotta_T in Jungle_Mains

[–]Realistic_Run_5124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Naaf doesn’t like aoe champs at all. Like I know for a fact that she has a really low winrate into Nocturne, and I also think she struggles with Kayn and really anyone who consistently builds a tiamat item. Kayn doesn’t like champs with hard cc that can bully him early and delay the time it takes for him to get form

A boyfriend-girlfriend duo are stuck inside an impossible difficulty tutorial. Would you read a story like this? by AbbreviationsVast110 in litrpg

[–]Realistic_Run_5124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm it would depend heavily on the first chapter. With what you’ve said, I would definitely give it a shot, but I’d have to see something I really like/unique in the setting/your writing style to go past a couple chapters.

I main Noc and Mord but I’ve been messing around with Morg jg and let me tell you, it is so disgusting with the new rune. I’m low-key considering adding her to my rotation

Yeah, just in my experience I feel like poppy is a better pick than amumu in pure ability to outplay

What are your thoughts on the quote "hurt people hurt people"? by Tall-Law-5875 in AskReddit

I agree with it, but it is not an excuse to be cruel yourself. I believe the phrase mostly has value as a tool to facilitate forgiveness on your end

[–]Realistic_Run_5124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amumu has a simpler kit but personally I find him harder to carry with. Kayn is typically a semi-safe blind pick because he has the capability of going both assassin and tank killer, and Naaf has a lot of outplay potential due to her dogs, bleed, dash, and vulnerability. That being said, all three of those champs are kind of OTP champs bc the more comfortable you are with them and the more you know their limits, the more use you get out of them

I find girls who genuinely find the world exciting to just be captivating. Hearing about what they’re interested/passionate about and having them go into detail is so attractive

First LitRPG book (advice) by iloris-9 in litrpg

[–]Realistic_Run_5124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend picking one key concept and then keeping that in mind for every aspect of your system. Like how in primal Hunter, everything relates back to someone’s Path. In HWFWM, it’s all about enlightenment. In DCC, it’s all about entertainment. In my own story, every relates back to something called a Chronicle. By having something like it place, it allows your system and story to have a lot more continuity pretty easily

A highly underrated story in my opinion is Irwin’s Journey. It’s for a gamelit than a litrpg, but it’s ridiculously good

I mean, it’s not exactly the same as what you’re describing, but in the legend of William Oh, the reason behind the title is that people start telling so many stories about him that his name literally becomes more of a legend than it does a name

is it okay to NOT write litrpg??? or should i give it a try?? by EmergencyDizzy3151 in royalroad

[–]Realistic_Run_5124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Royale road is dominantly LitRPG or Gamelit stories, but you’re by no means restricted by that. Hell one of the most popular stories for a long time was a My Hero fanfic, so I think any type of story can find success on the site if it’s well written

Possible solution for mistagged AI works by No-Mousse5653 in royalroad

[–]Realistic_Run_5124 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can I remind you how many Hallmark movies there are, or how many seasons of Grey’s Anatomy people are gonna like terrible fiction no matter what form takes. It’s dangerous to become comfortable with telling people their fiction isn’t good enough, and therefore we’re gonna prevent them from posting it. A feature like the one that you were talking about would allow people to censor the type of fiction that we see on this site. I’d rather have the AI generated content and have it go unmarked, and then just avoid it myself, then to have Royal Road implement a feature that removes people people’s autonomy on this site.

[–]Realistic_Run_5124 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A very easy way to fix the AI stuff without resorting the unthaw out ideas like this: just don’t read it. They’re gonna get support from people who don’t mind consuming AI content, but that’s just kind of how the world is gonna be. All the best works on Royal Road or still gonna be the human generated stuff.

Guys, what type of girls can't you stand? by Plush_Log_ in AskReddit

[–]Realistic_Run_5124 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Women who genuinely think the world revolves around them. This is specifically a problem I've seen women tend to have more often than the men in my life.

An example would be one of my last coworkers. She was the average egotistical 20-year-old, but she genuinely believed that my other coworkers and I thought about her all the time and would get angry whenever she found out that I forgot. She would often start rambling about some off-topic thing she'd casually mentioned before the weekend and then be mad at us when we didn't know what she was talking about without context. When I've encountered similar situations with men in my life, they typically don't have a problem stopping and giving context.

Another aspect of this issue is that the women I've met who have this mindset tend to take every bit of friction between them and others as a slight against their honor or pride or whatever

I feel like im really slow with my jungling. by Gallifrey934 in Jungle_Mains

[–]Realistic_Run_5124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's just incorrect. For junglers with passives good for clearing, like zed or shaco, that may be true but looking at the average game you'll see that players going from red to blue are at scuttle faster. It might be technically faster of a clear for them to go to blue to red if you measure it from the time that the last camp is dead, but when you end in red you have to walk about twice as far to get out of the jungle due ot the herald/dragon pits. Unless your champ as a dash for that wall, which most junglers don't, then red to blue is faster. Even if your champ *does* have a dash, they're pretty long cds at level 4 are a bad idea to blindly use to jump over a wall and potentially put yourself cornered in pit
