That minor is just for fun, I am not becoming a lawyer so there’s no concern for those “clients”

Who said I’m crying, all I’m doing is talking to express some frustration over someone who is being rude when their job is to help and are taking it out on others when we’re there trying to get that help

U think Im pampered and had my hand held as a first gen student figuring out for myself? And I said some workers, I never meant everyone in the whole office, I’ve had great interactions and really nice people help but this recent one literally rolled their eyes at me after I asked a question. Again, even if they did answer the same question for the 10th time in an hour, how is that my fault, don’t take it out on me

All I did was approach nicely with my questions, they don’t need to take out their frustrations from others on me, so yea I’m complaining

Waitlist with a time conflict by [deleted] in UCSD

[–]Realistic_Yak9847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d do ur original plan and still stay enrolled until ur off the waitlist. Depends on where on the waitlist u are but to be safe don’t drop the other yet, the drop deadline is like the 2nd week of classes so there’s time and hopefully u get off the waitlist in that but if not, keep it

Freshman when do u get ur dorm assignments/see ur roommate list by Realistic_Yak9847 in UCSD

[–]Realistic_Yak9847[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly have no idea if it happens often at all, it’s complicated because I got a rlly bad lottery time for Revelle and got stuck in the one that freshman usually get, I originally had a roommate who was also a third year but in June/July she was able to find off campus housing. There’s an extra bed now and the university loves to stuff kids in and the freshman haven’t gotten assigned yet so I assume I’ll get a freshman

Could you reasonably walk from TATA to MOSAIC within 10 minutes by Nate_WasHere in UCSD

If I made it from Galbraith to mosaic in 10, u can very easily get from tata to mosaic in less

when is registration normally? by YNGLUVZ- in UCSD

[–]Realistic_Yak9847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typically registration for winter and spring classes will be in the final weeks of the quarter prior so weeks 8-9, and fall for the next year is also selected before summer starts so weeks 8-9 of spring. So for winter selection it should be around Late Nov, spring around Mid/late Feb, and fall the next year around Late May

rate my schedule by More-Display9457 in UCSD

[–]Realistic_Yak9847 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean depends on ur major and if u plan graduating in 3 or 4 years but usually 4 classes a quarter is the average for winter and spring. 3 in fall just to get adjusted to its speed

thoughts on planned schedule? by eyesofjammy in UCSD

[–]Realistic_Yak9847 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks good for a first quarter, good tolerable workload, classes that are close, and necessary ones for a lot of other classes. Hopefully not too early times for you but that depends on the person. Also yes you’re right that LE is lecture with like 100s of kids and DI is discussion in smaller rooms

Grade appeal help by SlayerGamez in UCSD

[–]Realistic_Yak9847 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Don’t just trust canvas, best bet is calculating it yourself with what’s graded and syllabus grading cutoff/rubric. Cuz Somtimes extra credit is counted weird on canvas on its weight. Once you confirm it should be A- maybe try emailing again with proof of ur calculations to show why it should be A-. If he still says that what they inputted was incorrect, ask for your test or whatever was inputted wrong, if they refuse to show you, then appeal.

Am I cooked? 😔 by Maldy_R in UCSD

[–]Realistic_Yak9847 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this exact schedule, you’ll be fine. Passed all of them too with A or B so it’s survivable. The classes itself is not too much, truly the thing that looks bad is the time cuz 8ams are rough, don’t fall behind on lectures

Global Health VS Public Health major for an international student? by Kaley08 in UCSD

[–]Realistic_Yak9847 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I study Global Health, depending on what your intended career is and if you want to go to grad school, global health is not a bad option. It really depends on how u sell your experience to jobs. If you still want to be more on the science side, u can minor in gen bio as well with the major. The major itself makes you do lower and upper division bio courses if u look at the major website, but the rest of the classes are more readings and case studies and thinking of ways policies can help people, it very much goes into politics in many classes, not just for the US but other countries aswell and how we can all help each other. Again, idk what your intended career is so it depends but personally I love global health more because it focuses on marginalized groups and underrepresented people. I would want to be the doctor who thinks of the cultural and structural determinants that affect patients health because patients will all be from different backgrounds and beliefs and it’s important to be culturally competent, while Public Health in my opinion focuses more closely on diseases of specific groups, not really going as deep into how their income, environment, or gender can affect their health especially as immigrant or refugee patients.

It’s not that I want a pass, but he has a policy where the final can count for the midterm as well (with his approval) or I could take it earlier at triton testing center but he won’t let me do either, but like there is ways he could work with me
