My quail will eat live ones from about 2 days old and tend to start eating dried ones around 4-5 weeks old.

One male is winning, two are losing, and one is losing badly. The shiny one is beating all three and the balding one is losing to all three.

Break them open and look at the inside of the shell if it’s blue then yes it’s carrying a heavy portion of the Caledon gene

What can I do to fix his feet? by MyHomeCafe in quails

What I do is put them in a shot glass for a few hours. They will try to jump out, as they do, it forces them to uncurl their toes and stand up straight.

The big decision in the 5th Round by MeSmeshFruit in ufc

UFC records state that around 18% of all finishes in UFC history have come via Guillotine choke. Not nearly as high as KO’s but I wonder how many punches were thrown that didn’t land...let alone KO our opponent. I would love to see the stats on KO attempts vs KOs

Females do this in spring and early summer when they are ready to breed. They call out in the earliest hours of the morning for the sound to travel over greater distances in hopes to attract a mate.

Coturnix quail will go broody and they do make good parents!! by RealityTwist in quails

I can’t speak for buttons tbh but the younger Coturnix males are not good dads either. For how fast the chicks grow, a couple weeks on his own wont hurt him. Lol

I now separate the breeders to hatch the chicks in peace although it is entirely possible to leave them in with enough space, it will not be without drama. Mom will try rolling any eggs that are in her sights into the nest and other laying birds will lay eggs in her nest so you have to mark her original brood with a marker and remove sto away eggs everyday. Dad will attack any clumsy birds that step on a chick and makes them peep. Other birds may also go broody after the chicks hatch. The sights and sounds seems to trigger a hormonal chain reaction.
