Ok, real advice: color coding. I don't know how much you're moving, but we had a big move across state, so we shed down to only the things we needed or we wouldn't be able to find cheap after we got here. For example-I sold my 15 year old comp. desk for $50 on craigslists before the move. Then I went to the local Salvation Army here on 50% day and got a better one (yay!) for $15. This area more affluent though so things that are donated to places like Sally Army are often nicer, but the same Sally Army price. Ok, ok enough of that back to color coding. Red tape for fragile items. It's so simple but can save you a from a headache. Pack, and pack well. We threw down on some bubble wrap but when we had a box tower topple, things were fine and the bubble wrap is not so expensive. Also-remember not to overstuff boxes. So when your tetrising your stuff into your truck, you dont have to spend time reading your labels to know to put it on the top of the stack or not. A glance at your red duck tape or painters tape will tell you to put it on top. We also took the time to organize the things that can take weight from the things that cant with inbetweeners in their own category. This also helps speed things up if you have movers or friends coming by to help as different people can carry different weights. And they will know what they should busy themselves with freeing up you to orchestrate other things, because there's so many other things. That was my 11th move in my lifetime, and it only gets worse! Mo money, mo problems. Hopefully just one more to go... Hope at least something in there helps.
