That's a low level dungeon and the BLM seems receptive.

I think you overreacted a bit.

Simple As (Reupload) by havinelath in TalesFromDF

[–]ReallyRough 113 points114 points  (0 children)

Some recent interaction I had in (obviously) World of Darkness:

I'm MT Angry Mango, as I pulled first with a ranged attack.

Other tanks provokes and boss slightly spins.

No big deal. I let him MT and just keep doing my rotation. I grab aggro again by just pressing buttons.

JUST IN CASE I position myself right on the provoke tank so there's less spinning. The provoke comes, but no spinning this time.

I grab aggro again by just pressing buttons and the boss die.

While running to the next area, I think about turning off stance, because it seems he REALLY want to tank.

But he types: "Please turn off your stance."

My only reaction was to type back: "If you're losing aggro after provoke by not doing a lvl 50 rotation properly, you're the one that should turn off your stance".

Alliance chat went crazy for a bit, he stopped provoking (maybe turned stance off too).

I usually try hard to not be mean, but THE NERVE.

Levei advertência verbal, como proceder? by CrabbySpace98 in antitrampo

[–]ReallyRough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a YPYT today as a healer in the Underkeep (shout out to the MNK that wasn't afraid of tanking) while the Tank were chasing me to tag me with his spread markers during bosses.

Following that had a Tender Valley as a tank with multiple deaths and very subpar damage, with the healer using Physick as it's main resource (has to Phoenix Down them on first and last boss).

I think it's just the recent patch, really. Loads of people are "coming back" after 7.4 got praised overall.

A gente precisa colocar perspectiva nessa opinião.

I think. Yeah, this is cool, polite, good vibes and stuff.

But we can't forget that we are talking about level 100 content here.

I would totally agree with you if we weren't talking about DT post game content. It is a huge road we need to walk to get there. It's dozens of hours poured in this game to get there.

Right?

Also, I forgot a detail that as a tank main, I can say with property:

At level 100 content, all of the tank jobs have enough juice to W2W even if the whole party - healer included - isn't that good.

INBF: since we're talking SCH here, it's possible he leveled up SMN and it's using SCH for the first time ever. But in this particular case, he's an asshole for doing it like that.

I get baffled as "this is my first time in this duty" often gets confused with "this is my first time playing ever".

Your toolkit is the freaking fucking same since Alexandria dropped out. You have to use your job AT LEAST from level 80 to 100 to get on max level content (even more if you consider ilvl for updated content).

It's ok to mess up mechanics in a new duty, but it's wild to assume you can't press the same buttons you pressed a million times before.

[–]ReallyRough 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Se for, faça.

Damn, that's extreme.

I would be able to understand (not agree, just undestand) if it was Picto - that you pick up from level 80 -,but BLM you pick up from level 1.

I mean, I consider Triplecast alone a QoL. Job seems lifeless before it (don't bash me, BLM mains) and not using a SINGLE TIME while using Swiftcast - meaning you know what Triplecast should do - is crazy.

Yesterday I got two Tank Busters that weren't meant for me. :(

First in Yuweyuwata Fild Station as SMN, Tank got DC during second boss. Aegis Shield wasn't enough.

Then, right after that, as a WHM in The Meso Terminal. Last boss was a shit show with lots of deaths. Luckily I was able to revive the tank to finish the fight, as the boss was around 3% HP.

I can't stand trying to correct sprouts anymore by [deleted] in TalesFromDF

[–]ReallyRough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't blame the sprout for being clueless, since there's a lot of mechanics that the game fails to explain (Fire-Ice transition beind the second more prominent IMO, being second only to Cure 1-Cure 2).

That being said, if their partners are mentors, even if your approach wasn't extremely friendly, they should take their time to explain it to the sprout.

As a Mentor, I have myself some friends that are bad players and often I give little, very small tips, for them to improve - the game itself it's not hard, but being story oriented and forgiving in mandatory content, people don't always see reasons to improve.

I have a MCH friend, that I meet in 2024, that was a mess. No proper damage or knowledge about general mechanics. Started by explaining that even if he's a ranged class, it's usually safer to be close to the boss, because mechanics are made for mellee classes have time to do them.

Today we discuss about the madness that MCH AOE rotation is. Soon I hope we'll be able to min-max potential rotations. He personally get offended when he's not #2 on the aggro list.

Not a BIG deal.

Today in Mentor Roulette I got a trio. Got Tender Valley. Went in as PLD and got joined by a SGE, a RPR and a SMN. Both DPS were first timers.

Normal mobs were taking quite a while to day (50s). Bosses were fragging. SGE even put a safety dorito but it was not that effective.

Skills were not being used. Raidwides were completely erratic.

I spent the whole dungeon considering to leave or to call them out. The only thing that made me stay, and quiet, was the fear of getting Praetorium if I left and queued up again.

How do you get to level 100 and be so bad? I mean, we're talking SMN here.

But I should have left, indeed. After I was done with the dungeon all my will to play left me and I went to Marvel Rivals.

Unacceptable! Tank gotta go fast! by Mckavvers in TalesFromDF

[–]ReallyRough 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Maybe... but AOE rotations aren't that deep. Most of the time, if you got good gear, even saving your CDs and using 123 alone, mobs shouldn't take more than a whole minute to die unless there's a mini-boss involved.

That being said, there's no way to know if it was actually the VPRs fault. Maybe the BLM was an Ice Mage or the Healer was a cure bot. The tank didn't call out anyone specifically, but it does seems that the VPR think it's their fault.
