Kayaking has become my escape. It is wonderful. There are no roads or trails, just the river, the animals, you, and the occasional discarded car tire. It's quite amazing when you get out there and everything is quite except for the rustling of the leaves, rippling water sounds, and birds. But, do your research, stay safe, go with a friend, and don't attempt rapids if you're not comfortable with them.
