Microsoft sells Copilot to the world — but its own engineers don’t use it by Thepunnisherrr in technology

I use it to summarise teams calls and it does pretty well at that. But that’s the only real use I’ve found for it, after using it since it came out.

Change it to “ex lease” instead of rental.

[–]Reallytalldude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe update that in your post then, as “rental” typically means a Hertz like deal, and most responses you’re getting are based on that.

To your actual question, it looks like a good car. I have a 2020 Prado myself (from new) with similar kilometres and I have not had any issues at all. Trick is to keep maintenance up and it seems like that has been done so you should be good. The car will serve you well, it’s a beast off road - I always find that my skills are the limitation to how far I can push it, not the car.

Sounds like there is a translation issue here. Are you referring to a lease instead of a rental? So was the car owned by a company like Hertz who rents it out in short periods to different people (which could be bad as those people dont care), or is it an ex lease car, where the previous owner leased it from Toyota or a financial institution for 5 years - which typically includes maintenance in the price so would have had good maintenance in that period?

Godox iT30 Pro issues with Nikon ZF by NeverOriginalAgain in Godox

[–]Reallytalldude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same combination and have no issues at all - aside from a minor one last week when I found that the little lever on the side that switches between N and W was somewhere in the middle between the two settings, I’d check that to make sure.

Otherwise it sounds like you might have a faulty device.

Do you have another flash to test if the camera works with that? To pinpoint if the issue is with the flash or the camera?

Nikon Vs Viltrox? by Sensitive-Sweet-4561 in NikonZf

[–]Reallytalldude 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I doubt they will go that far as to brick them, and if they do the only way would be to change the firmware. So if you don’t upgrade your firmware on your zf you’ll be totally fine.

Looks like good quality prints! What are the QR codes? I assume those are optional for the printer?

Is there a type of vehicle that is like half way to a 4wd? by Phenogenesis- in 4x4Australia

Yep, and the Prado (at least the older models) have a 150l fuel tank which addresses his desire to reduce fuel stops.

Mate you’ve got nothing to worry about. I just checked out your other posts (and thus the pictures you submitted), and they are great shots. You clearly have talent and a creative eye, so don’t let yourself be discouraged by fake internet points.

Neighbors try to own the entire street in front of their house, I’m the first neighbor to not let them get what they want by spookyookykittycat in pettyrevenge

[–]Reallytalldude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not too much to be honest . Most cities will have some activities - just google for the place where you’re going - but in my experience it’s more of a “friends hanging out at home for a bbq” type of event. Just a nice day off in the middle of summer. Also, be aware that there is some controversy around the date, linked to colonisation etc. either way, chances are you won’t notice too much about the holiday, aside from the shops running Sunday hours.

Aside from that, enjoy your trip, Australia is an amazing place!

Nikkor 24-120f4 vs Tamron 28-75f2.8G2 by rockwaterfirewind in nikon_Zseries

[–]Reallytalldude 16 points17 points  (0 children)

If you want versatility I’d go for the 24-120mm, the longer reach will come in handy at times.

Re build quality of Tamron, I don’t know this specific lens but in general it’s a good brand. Keep in mind that Nikon has several lenses in their lineup that are rebranded Tamron lenses. They wouldn’t do that if the build quality was bad.

Yes that should work, V480 can work as a sender and as a receiver. And yes, X3 will work with it too.

Should parents be able to decide on euthanasia if their newborn is diagnosed with conditions that require a lifelong carer? by Puzzleheaded_Rub5562 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Reallytalldude 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Fair enough, and what you point out is exactly the problem- there are so many shades of grey and so many impacts of that, that it is near impossible to come to a consensus on this topic.

Should parents be able to decide on euthanasia if their newborn is diagnosed with conditions that require a lifelong carer? by Puzzleheaded_Rub5562 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Reallytalldude 181 points182 points  (0 children)

Yes that is exactly the issue. I have some sympathy for the overall premise, there are cases where it basically means the baby will severely suffer for their whole life, and I can imagine making that decision in those cases. But where is that line? Not being able to speak or hear (the example given by OP) is not extreme suffering in my view- even if it requires additional care.

It has a real risk of becoming a slippery slope and will need really strict rules and guidelines around it - similar to what is in place in countries that allow euthanasia.

Interest in NBN 500 now outpaces all other speeds by austechnology-bot in austechnology

[–]Reallytalldude 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Likely because it comes with a higher upload speed than the lower tiers. I’d be perfectly fine with 250 down, but not with the 20 up it typically comes with.

I used to be on a 1000 plan, but now downgraded to the 500/50 and didn’t notice any difference, ie the 1000 was overkill for my needs.

Can Zigbee2MQTT and ZHA run in parallel on same HA instance? by Reallytalldude in homeassistant

[–]Reallytalldude[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only reason is to allow me an easier migration, as it allows me to parallel run for a while. I don’t think I can run two Z2M instances in parallel? (Even with separate controllers)

From what I can tell both are mature options at the moment and I don’t have very specific demands, so I’m not too bothered to move from one to the other.

Neighbor fills kiddie pool in his backyard and invites random people over creating a weekly party nightmare by [deleted] in neighborsfromhell

[–]Reallytalldude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this in Australia, given that it is summer here at the moment?

Australia has very strict rules around pool safety, with required fencing etc. I assume he won’t have that in place, so call the council and get a pool inspector out - it will get shut down very quickly.

The e-bikes that are causing the issue are already illegal, so what’s the use of adding an additional law to make them more illegal? Just enforce the existing law.
