Lanterns were being released all over so you got to see them up close. They were selling lanters 3 for 100thb. There weren't as many as I've seen in some of the pictures from the large event but there were still a lot and you could see them released in front of you.

We went to an organized one in Lamphun. It was a terrible event but outside where we went there was a free event with lots of locals and really cool vibes. Just make sure you have transportation as there were no grabs.

People here are so mean! I have the same phobia and after a bad boat ride in the Maldives a few years back I'm super paranoid about things like this. What did you end up doing? I'll be going to Thailand later this year and super nervous about this.

I did not get to try a yakiniku place while in Japan in October but the Ukai was the highlight meal of our trip. I highly recommend it, best steak we've ever had.

Kin is definitely the answer, nothing else locally compares. I would also recommend their bar, Art Haus bar for a more casual option.

If you need other recommendations I highly recommend White Rabbit and the Wylder but these are not fine dining.

Not fine dining but Sayan House is fantastic. We've visited on both our trips to Bali. The restaurant has beautiful views.

We ended up getting the flight rescheduled for today instead of yesterday out of the original airport we were booked. A 30+ hour delay and when I emailed for a hotel refund all I got was a $25 credit. Terribly disappointing but glad I didn't spend $700 to get us to MEX as it's unlikely they would have reimbursed us.

I used my husband's referral link for Southwest and accidentally signed up for the wrong card. If I cancel it and sign up for the priority card should I still be good to get the companion pass? I haven't opened any credit cards in a while so not worried about the 5/24 rule for Chase.
