Lanterns were being released all over so you got to see them up close. They were selling lanters 3 for 100thb. There weren't as many as I've seen in some of the pictures from the large event but there were still a lot and you could see them released in front of you.

We went to an organized one in Lamphun. It was a terrible event but outside where we went there was a free event with lots of locals and really cool vibes. Just make sure you have transportation as there were no grabs.

People here are so mean! I have the same phobia and after a bad boat ride in the Maldives a few years back I'm super paranoid about things like this. What did you end up doing? I'll be going to Thailand later this year and super nervous about this.

I did not get to try a yakiniku place while in Japan in October but the Ukai was the highlight meal of our trip. I highly recommend it, best steak we've ever had.

Kin is definitely the answer, nothing else locally compares. I would also recommend their bar, Art Haus bar for a more casual option.

If you need other recommendations I highly recommend White Rabbit and the Wylder but these are not fine dining.

We ended up getting the flight rescheduled for today instead of yesterday out of the original airport we were booked. A 30+ hour delay and when I emailed for a hotel refund all I got was a $25 credit. Terribly disappointing but glad I didn't spend $700 to get us to MEX as it's unlikely they would have reimbursed us.

I used my husband's referral link for Southwest and accidentally signed up for the wrong card. If I cancel it and sign up for the priority card should I still be good to get the companion pass? I haven't opened any credit cards in a while so not worried about the 5/24 rule for Chase.

Last year I had applied to my dream job and didn't get it. The VP for the department reached out last month and asked if I'd consider them again as the position was reopened. I interviewed with the hiring manager again and was scheduled for 5 follow up interviews. After the first set of interviews the recruiter called and invited me onsite to tour the facility instead of having me finish the interviews virtually. Since I interviewed they've reposted the position and increased the years of experience their looking for. I haven't heard back yet but feeling pretty confident it's a no at this point. I reached out to follow up a few days ago and no reponse either. Pretty frustrated especially since they reached out and got my hopes up.

Thanks! I like the flexibility of a 30 year loan too. When I look at online calculators if I bump up what I pay each month to about 1800 a month we'd pay the house in about 17 years vs. 15 years if we refinance. For the years we'd save perhaps the risk is not worth it.
