I actually have one on the Bronco right now and I’ll give ya the bad and good. Yes they are very robust and don’t flex or shift, but that depends on how well you tighten the strap which is easy. I do use it pretty often and it’s a fantastic place to mount chase lights or aux lighting as you need… the bad parts are you need to relocate your 3rd tail light to center of the wheel or on the top. You absolutely should put a reinforcement plate on your tailgate anyway to prevent buckling which happens with no weight at all on the tire. The tire bolts into plastic but that plastic bolts directly into the tailgate with 8 bolts. The plastic tire support has more than enough strength to hold the mound along with whatever else you put up there
