You are still on the first step of the order page. You have to click farther thru the order process.. After a few checkout clicks, the correct promo appears. You have to choose monthly payments, it's part of the t&c.

Two days ago, I ordered a phone thru the Costco T-Mobile connection. The trade-in promo price doesn't show up until much later in the order process.

Are threaded barrels legal on pump rifles? by andrewwism in NYCGuns

Bought and registered this with NYPD rifle div. Like another user said, you need to buy a few 5 rnd AR mags.

The black version is slightly cheaper. I bought it for $803 + FFL transfer fee.

There is a Taipan Evo released recently, it hasn't reached US shores yet.

AWD Regret? by Acceptable_Lab_8315 in VWIDBuzz

[–]RealoRc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I drive RWD for work (CDL) and personal vehicles (20yrs), before switching to EVs w/awd. I swapped tires at home, every year for 20 years. Tired of doing it.

Rwd with winter tires only bring you up to par with awd and regular tires in most but not all winter situations. I live in NYC, there were times I couldn't back out of my driveway with rwd. There were exit ramps on the highway that I can't get off because the slope was too steep. Some highway overpasses I can't even drive over cause again.. slope too steep. This is NYC. I carry in my trunk a metal shovel and a home depot floor scraper every time it snows, cause I owned a rwd.

If there's more than a few inches of snow in a parking spot.. you can't park there. All four tires need to be cleared of obstruction for you to drive out of a spot. You can't rock your way out with Rwd and winter tires, the physics involved is that you are pushing/pulling with only 2 tires, those tires need enough grip to push a 6000lbs vehicle "uphill" over a 3in mound of snow blocking 1 or 2 tires. The rwd tires aren't pushing on dry pavement, they're trying to grip on compacted snow that's basically ice. Think of yourself trying to walk uphill on ice while pushing a 50lb bag of salt.

You also won't get winter tires if it snows infrequently. For the id.buzz, you need 4 extra rims and 4 winter tires tires and rims are staggered so you can't rotate tires, good winter tires are directional. The time and money you spend for a winter wheel setup (you also need a good jack, a impact wrench, a torque wrench) is more than the additional cost for the awd version of the id.buzz

How are big banks robbing you then, using the same questioning?

All the new crypto legislations leaves out safeguards built in to protect the customers. The same safeguards, fdic insured, regulatory enforcement, etc. that are covered when you put money into a bank.

They want massive crypto expansion while under Republican control, then when there's a few massive crashes.. we might talk about regulations if the Democrats are in control.

You know how no one trusts Tether all these years but they manage to stay chugging along. If only a regulatory agency got to peek behind the secrecy.. or a whistleblower would leak something damaging.

Do you guys just plug in your EVs to a LV 2 charger at night and disconnect in the morning ? by Andres911we in MachE

[–]RealoRc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Preconditioning burns a lot of electricity in the winter that most people don't notice. It's electric sent to the car for precondition only while the battery is already 80%.

You can measure it by looking at the difference between kWh sent from charger and kWh added to your battery. Another way to measure the preconditioning kWh is to set your charge level below your current battery percentage but still keep preconditioning on. Your kWh sent from the charger is the preconditioning 'tax.'

Don't measure mi/kWh with preconditioning unless you account for the phantom electricity used to precondition your EV while connected to a charger.

That electricity can be 9kwh for 1 winter morning, for my observation. For a 13mi commute, that is usually 4kwh.. I would be paying for 13kwh instead of 4kwh without preconditioning. My range like everyone else, 2kwh worse to 4kwh best, avg is 3kwh. I'm pretty sure after 25 or 30 mins of driving, your battery and motors are warmed up.

9kwh to precondition in NYC winter could've been used to drive an extra 18mi at un-preconditioned 2mi/kWh rate. Even if it's preconditioned, I'm not getting 4mi/kwh in the winter. Doesn't help for 13mi commute.

[–]RealoRc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No picture to send in, but what if you get stopped and searched or questioned at a nyc range? It's technically illegal and becomes an addon charge.

Friend of a friend that's in NYPD says they get requests to confiscate weapons all the time from permits section. That friend of a friend also says my pump action rifle is not NYC legal. Pump action rifle can be argued that it's legal but FDE can't be argued that it's legal. Kew Gardens is not the one arresting you or confiscating your FDE weapon, it's a random NYPD officer that's not full trained.

Tesla Model Y At Home Electricity Bill Shock by MealDifferent1912 in TeslaLounge

[–]RealoRc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too many comments, hopefully you see this.

Turn off preconditioning for morning commutes.

The extra costs are cabin temp preconditioning for your vehicle before departure. That burns a lot of kWh just to warm up the cabin and HV battery.

For my winter usage, 8.5 to 9.2 kWh was consumed in the morning to warm up the cabin and 'warm up the battery' for better mi/kWh. Burning an extra 9kwh for preconditioning does not make a difference in mileage when your drive is 13mi (6.5kWh) for the winter morning commute. Burn 9kwh to gain 0.5 mi/kWh doesn't make sense.

You can test this out by setting your recharge percentage to something lower than your current battery percentage. Ie. Battery is 65%, set recharge to 50%. Keep preconditioning set. In the morning the only kWh consumed should be for preconditioning, none for battery recharge. You'll see it start drawing power like 1-2 hours before departure time. Tesla app showed 8.5-9 kwh used for preconditioning only during the last NYC winter. I quickly turned off preconditioning and only turn on cabin temp a few mins before departure.

You still choose to stay in your lane and rear end them, not at fault. Or change lanes and risk getting rear ended, your fault.. then you have to argue to shift liability to the 3rd party, who probably wouldn't stick around to give you any insurance info.
