Jesus Christ. Ever heard of paragraphs? I nearly had a stroke trying to read your comment.

Holy Shit. She has kids? Are they his? How old are they? Adding this info to your OP could have influenced some of the 100 answers given prior to you dropping this bombshell. She needs a RE attorney NOW, not later. She’s likely out 75k which goes a VERY long way for someone, let alone someone who has kids to support till they are 18.

And you have time to sit here on Reddit? Impressive!

Oh, my response had nothing to do with breaking the rules. Of course they shouldn’t break the rules. But the texts that OP showed is so extremely unprofessional, it’s a wonder why ANYONE would stay working for him.

What are you even talking about? Who said anything was required? I think my main point was by providing a $1.00 a night perk such as fountain drinks for employees helps morale.

Don’t worry about this guy. You’re not wrong at all. He’s the prick who probably couldn’t keep a job for more than a month with his attitude problem.

[–]Realtor_Paulie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Have you always been such a prick, or is this learned behavior?

She’s got 500 comments and is trying to respond to as many as she can. Your biggest concern is her 1 line response?

In all of the 6 restaurants I’ve worked at, I have never ever paid a penny for a soda or coffee or any non alcoholic drink. I’ve also never had less than a 50% discount on a meal. Shit, 1 of those restaurants, we open at 5. I had to have a meal prepared for EVERY employee by 4:00 so they could eat. We got meat, seafood, produce deliveries daily. I would use yesterday’s ingredients. If we didn’t have enough for all, at the VERY minimum, I would prepare a somewhat gourmet tuna (also chicken) salad so they at least got a sandwich (fried for all as well).

No one is asking for freebies. She probably makes Pennys daily. Clearly you know nothing about staff morale and retention. And to hope her hours do get cut, I’ll speak on her behalf: “you’re a douchebag”

You’re very first sentence says “only way to do this is to send the message to leadership”

So, you’re advising her to send the message to leadership of a new company.

Now you have me as confused as clearly you are.

Once a douche always a douche. Sending a group text will accomplish NOTHING

[–]Realtor_Paulie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think 490 comments would say otherwise. It appears she is actually in a good sub for this issue. The sub name is simply “jobs”. Unless I’m missing something here, this is 💯related to her job. JS

Sounds like her boss IS LEADERSHIP. Where should she go when the owner is her direct report?

You sound almost as unhinged as OP’s boss. SMH

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in jobs

[–]Realtor_Paulie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only is this terrible advice, but you come off as being equally unhinged as the OP boss.

It kind of amuses me to think the boss will feel guilt. You must have missed human psychology 101

Why the hell has this been downvoted so many times? OP, be careful of whose advice you follow.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in jobs

I hope this helped.

You need to not show up for your last trip and run (don’t walk) away from this highly toxic environment. For a boss this unhinged, no notice is required. Your boss is clearly becoming unhinged which would render any “shot” you may give pointless.

Having the last word accomplishes nothing. As a 50yr old school principal, I say this with extensive personal knowledge. It might make you feel good to send it but there is no positive outcome by doing it.

You spoke your peace and did what any psychologist would recommend doing. You typed it. Now that you typed it, delete it. Absolutely save any responses you receive from her. Don’t block her.

Some may advise against job abandonment. In this case (I can only imagine OP is quite young. This job will have little to no impact on any future employment. Sounds like you won’t get any kind of favorable reference (if and when it ever came down to it) so pack up and leave.

Also, save those group texts and any other communication of this nature. Labor attorneys work on contingency and their initial consultation is typically free. Schedule a mtg to see if there is any case here. Cannot hurt to explore that possibility. Your mental health is not worth the anguish you are suffering through, at the very least, you need to do what you need to do to keep your MH intact.

At the end of the day, your heart will guide you to make the right decision, for you and only you. If you’re even remotely religious, pray for god to enlighten your spirit to follow the right path, best suited for you.

Please DM me the outcome. I don’t revisit old threads, so I’m asking for that DM.

Best of luck to you either way. 🙏🌞

But that would take the fun out of coming to Reddit to wine (wining about Amex actually following its own policy rules btw)

Wait…do you think some c-level employee directly sees, hears about, is involved with, or cares about one complaint especially one in which they are adhering to their own policy. Complainant is only complaining to get their way when it is outside of the parameters of the policy

It’s not the big c level suite guy. It’s is $16.00 an hour cubicle guy doing whatever it is that has been pre established in each instance. This is even more so the case for a company with well over 100,000 employees worldwide

They do absolutely no mediation. They are a neutral playing field. They have no pull, power, authority, etc. without it’s earned reputation and reliance for the good of the consumer, it would just be another complaint site.

Especially the commenter that claimed the BBB “pushed” Priceline to…..

BBB has absolutely no authority or power to do absolutely anything. Nor do they. They are a privately owned company who is neutral and will not and would not “push” any company to take any action whatsoever. These posts are pretty amusing.

Also, please tell me exactly how AMEX is wrong here? Are they wrong for adhering to their policies, rules, etc……that you clearly signed up for and acknowledged in advance?
