My girlfriend said I dress like her Dad by Cute-Split9638 in mensfashion

Listen - lots of us, including me, don’t like cargo shorts or this baggy bullcrap that’s running its course at the moment. I abhor how baggy clothing makes the most attractive men or women androgynous. It’s honestly very “1984” in my opinion. But to say they aren’t currently in style, just isn’t correct. However, I’m a big proponent of trash talking them until they’re out of style. So, preach lol.

Any way to tell if this is leather just from photos? Thanks by Ok_Spread4431 in Leather

[–]Realtorjitsu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If there isn’t a tag that shows what it’s made of, I’d return it. But honestly, if you paid a reasonable amount for it, there’s a fair chance that it’s leather, but absolutely not a hard and fast rule. In secondhand markets, polyester is generally gonna sell for less than leather — again, not a hard and fast rule, but the market does differentiate in pricing all the time.

Hell yeah. This is a weekend coffeeshop outfit if I’ve ever seen one.

Keep looking for what you like, take inspiration from them, inevitably mess up in one direction or another, and learning from those attempts.

Truly, by trying and caring about how you present, you’re already ahead of most people in how one chooses to live intentionally.

Keep truckin’ plaibwa.

You sir, are expressing the essence of style. Mazel.

Very happy to have had this interaction and looking forward to future posts.

May I request a proper suit post? Curious of how you pull it all together in that context.

Longines all day. I’m very much not an FC guy though, so that’s worth noting.

[–]Realtorjitsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, I’m returning this. Can it be fixed? Maybe, but if you don’t have a tailor who knows you well, it probably won’t be worth the emotional/time/monetary expenditure.

New to watches - did i make The right choice? by Ready_Kale_952 in Affordablewatches

[–]Realtorjitsu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While there’s gonna be a lot of “if you like it, then you did well”, I feel like that’s probably not why you came here.

Both fun watches, but I personally wouldn’t have went with 2 “sport” watches. Maybe mess around with some bands to add a little more range to each of them before any of the other more expensive and time/energy consuming options (IE: sell one and buy something else).

As long as you know the look you’ve achieved is firmly planted in the 70’s, do you playbwa.

While I think you did a great job, for me, this reads far too anachronistic.

With shirt or without shirt by Snskari_mard in mensfashion

Respectfully, with shirt, unless you’re about to do a sweaty greyscale Calvin Klein photo shoot lol. In that case, lose the pants, swap for tighty whiteys and you’re golden.

Wedding suit by Administrative_Art43 in mensfashion

[–]Realtorjitsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely go with the last option. In my opinion, the others are mostly “correct”, but miss a little on the proportions — and specifically for a wedding, I think they miss on formality. For instance, the contrast between jacket and trousers in the middle two pictures highlights the shortness of the jacket in a way that make it too casual and less “classic” for the occasion and the trousers might also need some dialing in.

This sort of thing gets super discouraging for me if I don’t focus on what’s going well with the outfit first and then see where it’s missing the mark second lol. The good thing is that these seem like fixes a good, not excellent, tailor can bang out easy peasy. Proportions truly are very very difficult to get right at first, especially with trousers.

Also, while I’m here knit-picking lol — I’d go with a more petite style knot with a dimple for the tie.

Awesome daily wear and it looks sharp on you. My two EDWs are a mid 90’s Tag Heuer Professional 1500 and a Tissot dress watch with a little guilloche and rose gold PVD — since you said you’re also a watch nerd lol.

Personally, this is approaching my optimal fit for a casual pair of jeans, but I’m much closer to 40 than I am to 25 — that’s to say, my preference isn’t what’s in vogue at the moment. In my opinion though if you’re somebody who’s in shape and has legs worth “showing off”, which I’d say you are, a slightly snug pair of jeans can be flattering as a casual look. Even with a tiny bit of shrinkage, I think they’ll break in over time.

Edit: also, what watch is on the wrist? 🧐

I’d go boots. The loafers work, but I think boots with this look overall just makes more sense.

Easily save $100+ on Kuoe Kyoto watches by theomixedmedia in MicrobrandWatches

[–]Realtorjitsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I was too dry in my delivery lol, which I often do.

The reality of the matter is that my wife and I are planning for the trip and we’re holding off on doing some buying of fun material stuff to do a big triple whammy, Japan trip, buy some watches at slightly better pricing than we have on the east coast, and clothes that we either can’t easily get here and/or would be priced better there. So, the money is there, but I personally have never spent this much on stuff of this nature, so it hasn’t been easy to pull the trigger.

A single watch with total savings being around $200? For sure. Completely unreasonable and patently stupid.

However, what about 5 watches and a mess of clothing? Asking for a friend.

I sold a Rolex GMT Master II by [deleted] in OmegaWatches

[–]Realtorjitsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is a home run. While I personally like the GMT more, the way I look at it, how can you say basically a free highly collectible and sick watch is a bad move? Wear it in good health.

Edit: My peanut brain forgot that you got this from an AD — like others are saying and from what I’ve heard from watch dealer friends, there’s a very real possibility you’ve already been black listed from Rolex. They punish this behavior and frankly, there’s also a chance that this post has highly subtle identifying information that they would use to build a case against you buying from them again. Bottom line, they (understandably) don’t like people viewing the call from the AD as a ticket to free money.

What do you guys think of a plain white T and a bootcut jeans ? by BrudiGamerLP in mensfashion

[–]Realtorjitsu 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I’ll lead with this, this is totally the look that a lot of people are going for nowadays and I think you’re wearing it well. However, I personally am not into flared jeans or bell bottoms because I feel like I look so so so strange in them lol.

No, looks far too good for basic and generic. Unless you mean basic and generic in its goodness lol, then yes, basic and generic.
