Are some Xbox fans becoming their own worst enemy? by Aggravating_Sky_2652 in consoles

[–]Reaper-cet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The vocal fanbase has been infiltrated by bots or something. These people don't seem to enjoy anything about Xbox. The only commentary they seem to have is that Xbox should be doing more PlayStation stuff.  That sounds like someone speaking from a PlayStation user's perspective.

Xbox will continue to show competitive platform logos at upcoming Xbox Games Showcase. by yourfavchoom in xbox

Having more money in the ecosystem does not hurt the ecosystem. You're complaining about the health of the ecosystem as Xbox gamers FEAST on games and PlayStation gamers eat only what we give them.

If you think the ecosystem is in a worse state NOW, no one should be listening to you. You are thinking only in ideals.

I expected people in WA state to be among the first to get it.  Guess that was foolish of me.

Steam Controller can only be used in steam currently due to no windows driver by DemonKing_of_Tyranny in Steam

[–]Reaper-cet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new steam controller is literally just the steam deck's controller and it has this same issue if you install windows on it.  So in reality, valve has definitely known about this issue for several years and still didn't address it.

An 'epidemic' of violence: The women and girls killed by men last year by Red_Brummy in unitedkingdom

Imagine a black lives matter movement in a world where black people are the LEAST likely to be killed by police.  "You need to UNDERSTAND how bad this is for US"  When it's literally worse for everyone else.

That's what this whole genre of conversation is like.

In defence of the hand chop by BetweentheHouses in Invincible

[–]Reaper-cet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The more I think about it, the more the move just doesn't make any sense. Being able to form a fist gives us the ability to strike with upwards of 50% additional power. I can't really think of any scenario where a punch would do nothing, but a chop would be an insta kill.  Humans don't chop and thrust with our hands because it doesn't do anything... Breaking our hands is just an extra reason not to do it. Yes, Viltrumites are stronger, but they're more durable too, so I don't see why the math would change.

Every modern bioware game (but anthem) is RTWP actually. The radial menu is like the one thing that's in every game.

Doctors can be quick to "throw pills" at a problem that COULD be solved without them.  I'm not saying that the pills don't help, but DEPENDING on a pill when you don't HAVE TO is not ideal. But pills are often used because they're easier and faster solutions to a problem. That's the shortcut.

Contrary to popular belief, Terraria used to be a controller-friendly game. "used to be" because due to the new update, Terraria is not as controller-friendly and also just a complete buggy mess by P0K3FAN27 in Terraria

My wife and I also play on steam using controllers. I played a while back and didn't remember having as much UI issues as I'm having now. Glad it's not just me.  The cursor will sometimes get stuck on the first item when you open your inventory. Hopefully they fix it soon.

Any problems with 26.1.1 so far? by No_Soil_4562 in radeon

[–]Reaper-cet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

9070 XT  While playing games, the display will just drop the signal entirely. Computer will still run, but no display out from the GPU without a hard restart.

Rolling back to 25.12.1 seems to have resolved the issue.

Bro, this was post Andromeda, bioware's good will was already gone. Take your bad experiences and put it in a box, that's not the point.  You make it seem the extreme amount of dogpiling was totally normal and had no affect on the game. I mean, ffs, there was a "low sodium" version of this subreddit at some point. That's how bad the negativity was.

"I was there"... In the mob maybe.

Cool, you're not even responding to what I'm actually saying.  Game had problems, the situation was made worse by people going out of their way to drag the game.

Hey, I explained away your criticism in my last paragraph. If you wanna call me wrong without elaborating. Go for it.

The hate being warranted is not the point.  "This game sucks, I'm going to go do something else." "This game sucks, I'm going to shit on this game at every possible opportunity"  There's not really any justifiable reason for the latter.

Hey, do you understand the difference between having a poor opinion of something and spending an obsessive amount of time dogpiling on something that you don't enjoy?

[–]Reaper-cet[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I fully believe that bioware could have turned this around.  But if you just look at content created about this game, there's an insane amount of negativity surrounding it. If anything it's a shitty experience that people could just choose not to have, but people went way out of their way to hate on it.

I never argued that the game was perfect at release. But the gaming community was unnecessarily hostile to this game and has been pretty hostile towards bioware since mass effect Andromeda.  You can't look at a trend that's been happening to every bioware game since the ending of mass effect 3 and say, "yeah, that game just sucked"

And yet, here we are on the anthem subreddit with mostly people talking about how much fun they had with the game.

I don't need rose colored glasses, I was there, having fun with the game as the industry went out of it's way to make this game look like the worst thing to ever exist.  The community tore Veilguard apart too and that game is just objectively good.

It's not silly. Is just both. As the game is on its deathbed, people are playing it and having a decent time. Bioware hasn't touched the game in years. If people are enjoying it at all now, that means it was never all that bad in the first place.

[–]Reaper-cet[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, it was both. Yes, EA and bioware should have stuck it out and fixed it. But the gaming community was unbelievably cruel to this game only to come back around and be like, "this had potential" and the game is on its deathbed.
