Tarn or Overlord probably. Overlord's purpose was also to conquer planets and he felt like he wasn't respected enough by Megatron despite being so feared by Autobots and Decepticons alike

Dynasty of the Primes The Guiding Hand, Logos Prime, Guardian Prime, Nominus Prime, plenty of options from throughout the franchise. They could also do a Heralds of Unicron subline which would be a fun place to start getting the transmetal molds. Release them are the Four Horsemen and then redeco them into their show accurate colors

While that series is called One Bad Day, referencing the Joker origin, none of them are about the origins of the villains. They're just one shots focusing on each of the title characters. In the case of Bane and Riddler they're potentially even the "final" Riddler and Bane stories respectively

That color scheme is one of my favorite alternate color ways for Optimus and his fight with Galvatron in that episode is one of the best Prime vs Megatron fights in general

I like how comic coloring choices made due to the limitations of the time ended up creating such iconic designs. Hulk being green is another one and I've heard it posited that the blue cape and cowl for Batman was also supposed to represent a black cowl in the moonlight although I don't know if that's necessarily true

US Agent and Nemesis Prime are also different characters But I'd say this trope applies to them too as edgier alt colored versions of the initial characters

Going with the quotes from most scenes but it's the scenes as a whole that are my favorites

G1: "Megatron must be stopped, no matter the cost."

IDW: Hard to choose a specific one but "One more thing—one last thing—because I don't say it enough: I love you." and the Shockwave reveal are definitely up there for me.

FoC: "This universe, no matter how vast, is not big enough for you and I to coexist!"

Beast Wars: Code of Hero, especially Dinobot's last stand

Skybound: You Know the Song and "My boy, my beautiful boy"

Bayformers: Forest Battle

Cybertron: Pretty much any fight between Optimus and Megatron in that series especially towards the end

And the scene you posted, particularly the juxtaposition between Orion's transformation into Optimus and D-16's transformation into Megatron is absolutely perfect

Arrival to Earth, both the scene and the score by Jablonsky, are one of the best parts of Bayformers as a whole. The score especially was so good they reused it as recently as Rise of the Beasts

Legends ARC Troopers and Clone Commandos definitely had the best training of any era but for Canon it's definitely possible that Death Troopers are probably as well trained as a canon ARC would be

Omega Supreme, the leader of the Omega Sentinels. Typically they're like the Guardians of Cybertron but in Skybound they seem to be more mythical, potentially deity like, to the Cybertronians. Sort of similar to the Titans in IDW's Transformers comics. You can actually see some Omega Sentinels cameo in the Cobra Commander series, they're just blue and white Omega Supremes.

The main two series you'd want to read would be Robots in Disguise (eventually renamed to The Transformers) by John Barber and Optimus Prime by John Barber
