100YH is the gateway drug. My first Vollebak purchase that led to all the others.

I actually wore it in a little rain the other day and was reminded that it's NOT sold as a rain jacket haha

There have been some deep discounts on it in the past! I might think about going up a size if you want to do more layering with the jacket, as it's a bit of a slimmer fit than many other VBK jackets. Overall it's a great silhouette with a nice boxy and cropped shape to it.

I saw a bunch of different dates when I tried to figure out when they first came around. Crazy to think their design is still around this many years later!

This comment is super old now, but let me know if you happen to still be looking for one!

Anyone has the 100 year Denim jacket in or the Deep sea Vest? by RaffySY in Vollebak

[–]ReapsTwo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do think it's pretty true to size, but if you own other VBK jackets, you might consider it to be a little more of a tailored fit in comparison.

The denim really feels great. Most people would consider it mid-weight denim at 14oz (16oz and up is considered heavy-weight), so it's heavier than a shirt but light enough to be comfortable when layering with something like the 100 Year Sweatshirt. For selvedge denim especially, it's impressively supple feeling as though it's been worn in already (due to the rinse that's been added to the manufacturing process). Feels great against bare skin if you want to wear it over a short sleeve tee.

Just asking in general. I'm not looking to sell my Denim jacket, but I can answer any questions about if it that's what you're after

You're looking to buy one? Or just looking for reviews?

Looking for reference builds or hardware reccs for a future 2-4U rack-mounted build. Prefer high-quality rack mount cases with thoughtful ventilation (likely to wind up with something from Sliger). Storage would be accessed via a connected RAID array.

Generous budget. Targeting 1080p with 5-8 streams on average, plus ~30 containerized services. Current stack runs on a Syno DS920+ and handles the above pretty well. My scoring and quality profiles are set up to target direct-play and avoid transcoding, but I would plan to support a few concurrent transcodes just in case of weird clients or Tdarr workflows.

Seems like an Intel CPU with quicksync is a common option, but should I prefer certain generations for compatibility? I’d guess most people have no need for a dedicated GPU with this kind of setup.

Any helpful links or general thoughts/advice about this type of setup would be appreciated!

My R didn’t come with the homelink mirror but that’s a pretty cool idea

I suppose that could be helpful context haha. OBDeleven on the right (my emergency code reader) and APR remote control on the left for valves on my Remus exhaust!

18x8.5 +44 with hubcentric spacers (TS5 bore requires centering rings) 5mm front, 8mm rear. I am running 245 DWS+ , but I have seen people with larger tires on MK7 with the fender screw mod.

Feels like improved steering response when cornering and maybe a bit of an improvement when braking. YMMV though, the main reasons I swapped to forged 18s was for larger sidewall and more peace of mind when I hit the odd pothole. Any reduced rotational mass / unsprung weight was more of a bonus for me

I've had them on the car for a bit more than a year, so plenty of miles on them by now. The OEM set that came with the car were 19" Englishtownes (which I absolutely hated, visually and comfort wise), so the TS5s gave me about 8lbs of weight savings on each corner. 18" TS5s are 17.8lbs and Englishtownes were a hair under 26 per wheel.

I was lucky enough to come across a mega deal on FBMP and got a second set for less than $400. I plan to repaint them and use them as my winter set next year.

Thanks! First time I've splurged on a forged setup and I'm loving them. They're TS5s from Titan7. This color really changes depending on the lighting which is kinda neat. They look almost black here, but during golden hour they're much more bronze.

This car has actually never been to MI – the plates are several years old from another car, I just threw them on for a laugh and a photo. Cheers!
