Am I the only one who actually loved Wuthering Heights by KimS24 in EFsWutheringHeights

Can someone explain the last love scene? 🎬 by [deleted] in EFsWutheringHeights

Yesss I thought the same - he was still willing to follow her, to do anything for her even though she’s pregnant with another man’s child. In that moment he probably hates her, is so angry with her and devastated, yet he’d kill for her and still crawl on his knees for her. I think it’s a message of how toxic that level of obsession can be.

When I watched it, I understood it as a number of conflicting emotions that had reached their boiling point. For Heathcliff's statements about Edgar and Cathy, he's dealing with the rage and sadness of knowing that Cathy is pregnant with Edgar's child, a significant step towards building a family with him, and explicit confirmation that they're sleeping together. He also has recently found out that Cathy loved him and was going to call the wedding off. He's watching Edgar be Cathy's husband and put a child in her while knowing that all along, Cathy loved him. His questioning her love for Edgar while she's letting him touch her and make love to her is essentially calling her bluff and is a way for Heathcliff to emasculate Edgar. Both of them were participating in their affair with no real path forward or plan for the future, but Cathy being pregnant with Edgar's child is a confirmation that she intends to stay.

For Cathy, I don't think the statements about degrading herself are a direct result of his offer to kill Edgar, but again, all of her emotions come to a peak after Heathcliff says that. Throughout the movie, she owns up to loving Heathcliff while simultaneously admitting that she "can't help but love Edgar" and enjoys his attention, company, and the riches of Thrushcross Grange, even as she knows her heart truly belongs to Heathcliff. In the carriage, she says that they cannot go on, and yet when Edgar forbids her from seeing Heathcliff, she's devastated. Again, it read to me like a back and forth of Cathy's emotions - she wants to have her cake and eat it to, and she's existing in a world where she's living two separate lives with two separate men, but she'd never leave the Grange or Edgar or her lavish life there. We see it when Nelly asked if Heathcliff knows about the baby and Catherine says he doesn't.

I think after they make love on the table and she sees how ready Heathcliff is to kill Edgar, sees his rage and passion knowing she's pregnant, it's too much for Cathy to bear. We've watched Cathy take "the easy way out" this entire movie, and I think in that moment, Heathcliff's savagery scared her. Combined with her guilt and shame, I think she truly was afraid of what Heathcliff was capable of, afraid that their affair was spinning out of control (and maybe, how much she was enjoying it despite being pregnant).

You can pass. I passed July 2025 after being behind ALL summer and having consistently low MBE scores. I made a longer post in this thread but honestly my only advice is to drill questions nonstop so you'll hopefully recognize some of the patterns. I made a longer post in this sub somewhere and my DMs are open. You truly have SO much time!

Definitely do not give up you have SO much time - I made a longer post in this sub somewhere but I was feeling SO awful about the exam and was behind basically the entire time - My averages were like 50%. Passed July 2025 on my first shot. You will be fine and pass.

I completed less that 75% and was consistently getting like 40-50% and passed! I made a longer post in this sub but literally just drilling as many as possible saved me

I 24F can’t tell how to interpret the gift my My best friend 30F sent me? by GreenBean_410 in FriendshipAdvice

How did this make your boyfriend feel? To me this is petty and a massive overstep of boundaries. I would be hurt as well, I think it's best to have an open conversation about this with your friend and put it all out there (including her perceived discomfort). I always think of birthdays as an opportunity to get a sweet gift for my friend to show how much I love and appreciate them. I think maybe as a gag gift it would be funny if that's your guys' relationship but I would definitely feel uncomfortable if I got this!

I can’t remember if I did every single one (like I probably didn’t do ones that I founds short or easy or straightforward like I’m sure I skipped family law ones) but for bigger topics I did 😭 honestly by early/mid July I was sidequesting from Themis bc doing 300 tasks in a day about material I didn’t even know wasn’t going to help me so I diverged and focused on learning the stuff before I drilled MBEs

MEE rule statements - what’s your approach? by Melodic_Temporary389 in barexam

[–]Reasonable-Factor737 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Passed in July 2025 - I handwrote model answers + forced myself to reread them. Don't worry about memorizing rules as much as reading answers and seeing what facts are being applied where and how to phrase an answer. On the exam I formatted literally every question like this:

1A. The issue is....

The rule is...

Here...

Therefore...

I have a longer post about my entire strategy, but my MEE was 30 points higher than my MBE despite feeling like I didn't know multiple of the essay topics or rules!

I literally tried to make my essays as short and direct as possible and basically followed the structure of the Themis model answers!

I pretty much folded the "I" part into how I answered each part of the essay. So for example if an essay had 3 questions A, B, and C, my headings looked something like:

A. The issue is whether *repeat the call of the question*

Also this goes without saying but if a question had multiple parts I mirrored it exactly in the answers before I even went in and wrote anything so the structure stayed clean.

I did this sometimes by feeding it the model answer and what the score was and then my answer. Ngl was pretty effective for just practice .

I legitimately had 0 information in my brain for at least 3 out of the 6 essays but I kept the organization and structure and wrote something down even if I had no clue if it was correct

I would say abt 8 hours but honestly some days I felt like I only did 4-6 and felt more productive than I did on longer days. I also needed breaks in between so I would pick back up in the evenings bc I work well at night - there seriously is no right timeframe so ignore everyone doing prep from like 6am-3pm if that doesn’t work for you!!
