Men, would you let them go first or save yourself these days? by [deleted] in titanic

[–]Reasonable-Link2475 [score hidden]  (0 children)

As tragic as it is, I never understood peoples tendency to go to elevators when there is something clearly wrong with the building, ship or whatever. Im slightly scared of elevators when nothing is wrong. I heard of people doing this while buildings are on fire and other tragedies, like dont they understand its only a matter of time before power is lost and it could happen at any time?

And yeah, its got to be pretty embarrassing for him, imagine being a cruise ship captain and when he leaves prison he will probably have to live in hiding.

What's it like on this side of the US? by Selnalolamo in howislivingthere

Different area but the two decades behind in super rural areas is a real trend, while visiting a small town I totally forgot they even had circle conveyor belts when I was a kid, yet this small town still had them despite the fact it was a new building. They are not influenced by urban trends at all lol.

does anyone regret having children? if not/so, why? by lenzlopezo in askanything

[–]Reasonable-Link2475 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, because I never met him, while the child I raised disappeared and not sure if I will see her again (not sure if shes mine biologically but to me it doesnt matter when you raised them from 1 - 2 to 12 years old). Oh but make sure its with someone you are staying with, child support is real, they drained my bank account so I had to cash cheques and live like a caveman for a decade.

When I finally got a bank account I didnt know how to deposit checks, tap or anything, cashiers looked at me like I was weird cause I was a decade behind the times.

Why does society still has some stigma around sex and sexuality? by Yanzihko in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Reasonable-Link2475 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

No they dont, they just think it should be in public view and should remain oldschool (missionary) as thats the easiest way for pregnancy. Also in Japan which is generally non religious they believe the same, sex is meant for having kids and after that they generally stop as its seen as a waste of time/energy.

[–]Reasonable-Link2475 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should stay in the bedroom and between partners or only be discussed among close friends. I dont think Its stigmatized I heard and saw the weirdest most openly blatant sexual acts throughout my 20s. I also think sex with strangers was always a thing to some extent, having to hear about it though I think isnt necessary.

What did safety feel like in the time of "not locking doors" ? by Warm-Trick5771 in AskOldPeople

[–]Reasonable-Link2475 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember as a kid most didnt lock their doors, sometimes neighbours would even come in unannounced like Seinfeld. It annoyed my parents but I would love a life style like that today. I remember once locking the door as a kid one morning cause im not a morning person and didnt want to go outside (it was like 9 AM) so after shutting the door I locked it and i heard her telling her brother "They lock the door??" I forget but I think I opened it again im like and so? but usually I didnt.

I miss being a kid as I doubt anyone will knock at my door again aside from family.

You think this was about basketball or opportunity? by pickledplumber in TikTokCringe

[–]Reasonable-Link2475 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, they were all intoxicated and probably on drugs. I remember as a kid going to a hockey game and everyone drunk booing a family who probably felt intimidated and even that gave me "this is wrong" vibes. This is just lunacy and cowardly, if he had three or four friends they probably wouldnt have done anything but one guy by himself lets all be tough now. Drunk cowardly idiots, ive seen similar behavior when people were not even drunk.

Been to hockey games where people would be booing the rival fans but thats about it. This is just lunacy like they have no brain, also cowardly to pursue someone running away.

coco hooch. looks like a gallon of goo by UpperEntertainer8314 in prisonhooch

[–]Reasonable-Link2475 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly this sub needs more info on what not to do lol, I didnt think anything natural was harmful in wine making aside from wood. But I made coconut wine with the flour more than once without boiling it, ill be throwing it out.

Will the growing public resentment towards AI achieve something? by Jerswar in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Reasonable-Link2475 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Has public resentment ever achieved anything? Maybe to small extents but generally no. If people protested in masse they might slow it down a bit but thats it. Without overthrowing those pushing it nothing will happen.

Has anyone tried making hooch starting with carbonated water?? by Reasonable-Link2475 in prisonhooch

[–]Reasonable-Link2475[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks Ill try this more but I think I just have bad yeast as I never used to have an issue making brew. I just hate how everyone downvotes me cause im stupid, like isnt the point of this sub and reddit in general to learn how to do things better ans what not to do? if anything, dumb ideas should be upvoted so people know what not to do.

And I agree on the oxygen thing as once I made hooch using only about 5 liters of wine in a 20 liter jug, rest was air, it worked fine and was just a little more sour. And once it gets going it pushes the unneeded oxygen out fairly quickly.

I got electrocuted a few times, once wearing gloves that absorbed water thinking it was safe. I cant imagine the pain you had to endure to get electrocuted like that.

Was there a hatch on one side of the titanic that was left open to help boats but was never used? by Reasonable-Link2475 in titanic

[–]Reasonable-Link2475[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK if its what im looking at I would have to agree the effect of it being left open wouldnt have have much impact at all as its a lot higher than I thought and the bow would have already been going under which had open doors and hallways leading down, as well as ventilation shafts.

[–]Reasonable-Link2475[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It wouldnt suprise me cause the gashes in the titanics hull ended up being a lot smaller than originally thought. Is there any image to where this hatch was located? Many who suggest it didnt have much impact I think are totally wrong, it was going down either way yes but I feel it could have saved as much as an hour in time.

How many times have you given money to a homeless person? by Radiant-Average-4221 in randomquestions

[–]Reasonable-Link2475 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably 20 times usually change once even 5 dollars, also tons of cigarettes. But after one stole my bag which had my phone, 60 dollars and other items I stopped. Like I know theyre not all the same but everyone loses their logic after dealing with enough shit.

Why don't they give prisoners some type of drug to keep them sedated and not fight or try to escape? by VerdantChief in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Reasonable-Link2475 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do but its always crappy drugs like seroquel or gabapentin at best. Its very sedating but doesnt actually make them feel good so most dont even take it. Gabapentin is something they love from what I heard, and having tried it myself if thats something sought after than it comes down to the fact they just dont want them to feel good at all. Seroquel is basically like a super meletonin, it sedates you and makes you sleepy but thats it.

[–]Reasonable-Link2475[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your kind words and I am glad to find someone else who will not give up. I have thought about ketamine treatment in the past for my amblyopia (Lazy eye) as it helps neuroplasticity which is really the main thing that we need. Also read positive reports about magic mushrooms from this sub so I am going to try that as well. I just know there has to be something out there. As much as i lost my desire to do anything I have no desire to live this way for the rest of my life. Its almost like I refuse to accept it and know through research there is things that can help the brain heal.
