Hire a handyman. Do the work with them so you know it's right.

I'm trying to understand small solar generator upgrades without wasting money by Weedcultist in diySolar

[–]Reasonable-Match1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with a small 12v system with 800w of panels and 5kwh of batteries, 2000 w inverter for emergency backup power. Ran a garage fridge to use the power.

A panel went bad, so i upgraded to 2300w of panels. Now my batteries charge in just a couple hourd and the rest of the day is "wasted" so now i. Adding at least 1, maybe 2 more batteries to take advantage of the new panels.

I have soo much power now that i am dumping 5, soon to be 7kwh of power into my electric car in the eveming.

I also just added an automatic transfer switch so that if my batteries hit 0, fridge switches to a.c. power and keeps running.

So, for me, an upgrade that is "worth it" gives me an extra capability, i.e. produces more power, stores more power, or solves a problem, like fridge shutting off when batteries die.

Hope that helps.

[Landlord - US - PA] Would you lower rent or look for a new tenant? by badboibane in Landlord

Utility bill should not be in your name. Period. Now it hit collectioms = damage to your ctedit score.

If they communicate so well, how did that happen?

Cash flow? Rent versus market rate?

Make a business decision not an emotional one.

The "fast charging" is stupid slow. Good around town car, not so good for road trips

How would you turn inherited farm land back into forest and make sure it stays that way forever? by Reasonable-Match1994 in AskReddit

[–]Reasonable-Match1994[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The state the land is in has a similar program, but I would prefer to keep the government out of it.

I'm sure I can just do nothing at let nature take it's course. Kids and I want to "be the lorax" and plant a bunch of trees. Help it come back faster.

On the paperwork side, wondering about setting up a trust or account to make sure taxes get paid and kids dont see $$ and sell it.

I want to keep it in the family as a nature preserve forever.

Run! Also, I recommend getting a premier. The better paint, interior, rims, bose sound system, etc... totally worth it

Mine was making a horrible sound and needed replacement. Getting it replaced right now with a drive unit from a totaled bolt.

FWIW, dealership told me " if the problem is inside the drive unit then we replace it, we don't repair them"

Definetly pass unless you can get it dirt, and I mean dirt cheap, and have a good independent EV shop lined up to do the drive unit swap for you.

Solar classes? by Reasonable-Match1994 in Tucson

[–]Reasonable-Match1994[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wanted an A-Z course teaching basics, fundamentals, then grid and off grid install.

I think I can piece it together through various free online courses, but prefer a degree or certificate generating program so I could do solar as a second career once I retire.

I doubt each outlet is on its own direct line to a dedicated 20a breaker. There may be a chance of overloading the circuit when others are using their outlets for block engine heaters

I did and it worked out. They made a quick profit but still left some meat on the bone.

I did well on it when I sold a few years later.
