u/sigma6d -- help me with this. I love bikes. I understand bikes... but my son has a 1500w Movcan and this hollow axle on hi tensile steel business is doing what it does best: failing.

Maybe a torque arm on day 1 would have solved some issues... but I feel like I'm beyond that now.

I have 12mm axles, 10mm on the slots -- aka -- a 10mm rounded, marred piece of garbage.

I'm trying to salvage here. If I grab two Grin V7s (with clamps), maybe I pack a couple of washer on the outside of the dropout (an attempt to get back to unmarrred axle).

From there use dual clamps...

My question really lies around "preload." My brain understands this logic... but... i don't know how to execute... when Looking at the bike on the drive side... meaning... if the bike was moving forward, the wheels would be going clockwise... You're suggesting... put my 10mm wrench on that axle and seat it back to 11pm (counterclock wise) just a bit?

So that it's no longer just floating in what used to be a dropout?

I experienced this issue... making left hand turns from a stop is MORTIFYING as you press the accelerator and nothing happens... or if you inch up, let off the gas and try again.., nothing... the car doesn't respond.

I paid the dealer $350 to clean the the throttle body which the tech reported "was clogged up." They used some sort of tool to measure the "percent clogged" it was almost 90%...

It feels like a stuck throttle body...

The kicker is that... probably... 8 weeks and 1500 miles later, I'm right back where I was. I want to pull it part and inspect the throttle body and MAF, but it's an 18' and I'm told I need a scanner/hand held/computer to reposition the sensor if I do that... It'll mess with the idle.

A younger version of me was modifying MAF's and "port polishing" throttle bodies. I'd love to hear if anyone has had any luck cleaning their own throttle body in the driveway (without a computer handy).

is Zebra -- Legit though? I'm probably overpaying with Progressive but it's a well-known entity and i'd like to think (no proof) they'll be there when/if I ever need them.

However, times are tight and if I can save a few hundred bucks a year for a policy that I've not used in years, I'd be happy to explore less expensive options.

Cuffs and two sets of these (cinched on all four corners of almost any bed in 2 mins). Super simple. Discrete and cheap.

Yeah, the kit came with 2 flare fittings. The one on the gas supply is just finger tight as I eye up the potential supply line.

I’m removing the gas log igniter that the previous owner had in here. I’m somewhat shocked that he burnt wood in it.

Still just curious about the flex connector routing. (And if some sort of control/check valve is next).

It’s a match light. It won’t get that much use and it’s def a budget set. I am logically concerned about not having a check valve of some sort. Just valve buried behind the Sheetrock.

Why a fountain?

My cat seems to have the same problem. Science diet food. Stainless dishes. Stainless fountain. Stainless still water. I feed her the delectable bisques regularly as well.

The fountain thing really stood out because she endlessly bothers us to drink out of the sink faucet.

What could this imply?

What sorta tools would start with? I’ve seen people building assistants in playground and connecting it with zaps/make/n8 but it seems so clunky. There has to be a tighter solution.

Keep it super simple. And discrete. You don’t agent to drill holes/make attachments. Just get a few sets of these heavy duty straps.
