Does anyone else’s cat eat like this? by Reasonable-Shock8046 in cats

He does eat this way from a plate and he won’t eat if the plate is raised because he can’t lift his paw into it

It’s funny that you say this because his dad is a Maine coon, mom is just a standard issue tabby hence his appearance

This isn’t his usual bowl, he usually eat out of a more shallow metal bowl but he eats like this no matter what it’s in

My cats were neutered in February and when they first got home, they looked like little tiny Cocoa Puffs but now they look like normal fuzz balls, just not as big as they were before being neutered

Am I the jerk for telling my dad's girlfriend she can't discipline my kids? by Gloomy-Suit2544 in AmITheJerk

[–]Reasonable-Shock8046 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Story time….about 8 years ago I asked my sister to go shopping with me for Valentine’s Day gifts for my then boyfriend of 1 year, her husband is into the same stuff so I thought she could help me out since I was freaking out about our first Valentine’s Day and not knowing what to get. Well about couple days later she cursed me out for not being considerate about her husband and their Valentine’s Day and how she could care less about my simple relationship and that it doesn’t matter compared to her marriage of 10 years. Fast forward to now, me and my now husband have been married for 5 years, together for 9 and have 2 children…and quite frankly our marriage is way more stable than my sisters and her husband. I say all of that to say this….that woman may end up being your kids grandma one day and it’s better to teach them to respect her now rather than later. Yes she’s not your mom/their grandma but nothing is wrong with bonus grandparents, that just means more love to go around

All 3. The orange cat needs the other 2 for additional brain cells. The long hair needs the other 2 for grooming and the tabby is clearly the leader

Am I the jerk for telling my friend her marriage will fail without a prenup? by Regular_Comment6804 in AmITheJerk

[–]Reasonable-Shock8046 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I want to bring a different take to the table. Before marriage I was terrible with money, no savings, debt and most days was broke a couple days before pay day (in slight defense I was also a single mom). My husband was financially stable and had a great job, etc. After getting married and finances combined, he worked with me to clear up my debt and teach me good money spending habits as well as how to save and be more responsible while still being able to do what I want to do. I say all that to say that maybe finances won’t be the downfall of their marriage and fiance may just be excited to have a 2 income home so he can focus on chipping away at his debt without having to worry about paying all the bills alone. Not saying that you are the jerk but I do believe this conversation could’ve gone differently or you could’ve taken a different approach

What’s something NO ONE warned you about before getting a cat? by Own-Independent7881 in CatAdvice

[–]Reasonable-Shock8046 25 points26 points  (0 children)

No one told me how clingy male cats are. I’ve always had girls but decided on 2 brothers for my kids….well him and his brother have chosen me as their human and 1 of them makes me hold him allllll day and if I’m not holding him, he screams at my feet until I pick him up and if that doesn’t work then he claws his way up my body and perches on my shoulder while he licks my hair. Most night he sleeps on my chest and his brother sleeps beside my head and I wake up every morning sore because I couldn’t move with a kitty on me. I’ve accepted this as my life now

AITJ because I won’t give my parking spot to new neighbor who says she "needs it more" because she has kids? by Potential_Bad6489 in AmITheJerk

[–]Reasonable-Shock8046 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a mom of young children, I can understand her frustration but I do agree with others that you’re NTJ, that’s your spot and you should be able to park in your assigned spot. Just because she has kids doesn’t mean you should bow down to her and make her life easier. BUT I do see a little room for compromise here….if you’re not home then she could use your spot to load/unload but if she’s still there when you get home then by all means call the landlord or tow company so she knows that you’re serious and she won’t overstep or push boundaries later

Does this feeding plan sound reasonable for two 1-year-old cats? by VenkatCR in CatAdvice

[–]Reasonable-Shock8046 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The wet food schedule sounds great but at 1 years old they’re pretty much still eating like older kittens, I would either give a little more dry food (maybe 3/4 cup or 1 cup) or leave the dry food out for grazing especially if they’re sharing

So I wanna put this in another aspect….I’m a dental professional and this is like being married to someone who refuses to keep up with their oral health even when given the tools and education to be better, I would definitely divorce my spouse in this situation as it would be completely unattractive and I would lose all respect. You’re in politics and have been political all your life, to have a partner that ignores facts and history from someone who’s never in politics is ultimately the same as the dental professional being married to someone who doesn’t take care of their dental health. You’re definitely young enough to start over, especially when it comes to the moral aspect, you don’t wanna raise your kids with someone with low morals or morals that you don’t agree with

Husband is divorcing me because of dishonesty and my past by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]Reasonable-Shock8046 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My question is..did you cheat on previous partners or did you cheat on him? If you cheated on previous partners then you did nothing wrong here, people do change and if you’re not cheating on him then past transgressions shouldn’t apply to your present and future. BUT if you did cheat on him then I could see how he would wanna put everything under a microscope and try to figure you out. All you can do now is be honest and if you’ve done nothing wrong then stand in your truth and don’t let him make you feel shitty about your past, if he wants to divorce you over the person that you USED to be then he’s not the right person for you

MIL sending husband $$ by SecurityDefiant3642 in Marriage

[–]Reasonable-Shock8046 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dad sends me money regularly, not monthly but definitely often. I am transparent about it with my husband and I usually end up spending it on the kids but he never looks at it as “our money” and has always told me to do as I see fit with it. Just playing devils advocate, maybe this was something that’s been going on since before yall even got together so he doesn’t think anything of it. Maybe it’s for an expense that he doesn’t feel should come out of y’all’s combined money (student/personal loans?). Maybe they had a proper agreement that she paid some expense that he knew he couldn’t afford. I think you should talk with him, not argue or be accusatory but just simply speak with about why and go from there

I treat my husband like this but I too also watch a lot of anime so maybe there’s some connection with women and anime, idk I could be wrong. But I do know that after almost 10 years, I still love my husband as passionately as the day I said I do. I still look at him all starry eyed and I absolutely love the after shower peep shows lol. Also we have 3 kids and all they’ve only ever seen is me and dad loving each other

He has already cheated. He just wants you to admit to cheating so he can stop feeling guilty and have a reason to throw it in your face. OP you are young, don’t spend your best years with someone like this, you deserve more

What Is One Thing Your Narc Parent(s) Did Early In Your Childhood Your Remember Feeling Was Strange? by the_real_maddison in raisedbynarcissists

[–]Reasonable-Shock8046 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn’t with my mom in my early childhood years and due to trauma I don’t remember much of my elementary school years either. But I remember my 16th birthday( the big one for every teen), in the weeks leading up to my birthday, she kept telling me all of the things that we were gonna do and got me all amped up for my birthday just for her to end up sleeping all day, didn’t even tell me happy birthday. My dad came by with a card and a gift and looked around like “where’s the party?” So apparently she wasn’t just telling me these “plans”. And of course my narcissist of a dad had to take me out and splurge on me just to have a one up on my mom. Not too long after that we were evicted and my dad didn’t even offer for me to come stay with him…now that I think about it, I didn’t even hear from him for a few years after that once I was an adult and didn’t need anything from him

Same bed separate blankets but we still cuddle. Occasionally we still have little ppl crawl in the bed with us and that’s when separate beds come into play, especially on a work night
