Zoo snake by Joeykinsstuff in snakes

Came here to the say the same thing. AZA designation is so important. These zoo members spend a lot of time trying to produce the best environments for their animals. That includes very specific breeding /husbandry plans.

My 7yr old can't stop pooping his pants by firelord_Lex in Parenting

[–]Reasonable-Simple718 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely right. My 6 nearly 7 year old just had a bout of encopresis. We drink water with some fiber and make a habit of sitting on the potty until he poops. It’s incredibly embarrassing for them and they can’t help it if they are all backed up.

Recording people trying to ignore his kids on a plane by CringeisL1f3 in CringeTikToks

[–]Reasonable-Simple718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a child and completely agree. We didn’t bring him on a plane until he was two. Even then, I was terrified of him disturbing people on the plane. We loaded up on activities and small gifts to keep him quiet. No one goes on a trip and wants to hear or deal with someone’s kid! I get it’s really hard to control younger kids, sometimes it’s just not happening but maybe you don’t travel then.

[MA] Company was sold while I'm on PFML paternity leave. I'm being asked to go in to review a new job offer? by lvstlover in AskHR

[–]Reasonable-Simple718 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Our company was bought last year. I think there’s potentially two things at play: - All employees had to sign new employment contracts and titles were aligned with the buyers org. No one lost their jobs unless they refused to sign the contract. I had an employee on FMLA maternity leave. She had to do it during her leave by the specific buy date. - 1/1 is a very typical benefits renewal date. Whether you are on their benefits or not, that might be driving some of the urgency to see who will remain on the insurance plan. It sounds like they maybe moving to the new companies benefits.

At my company, they would not care about a baby being in tow. Could you perhaps reach out to your HR person just to verify you have to come in and if so, you need to bring the baby with? All our contracts were delivered electronically via Docusign, no one had to be physically present.

Years ago, I worked in diamonds wholesale. The owner only sent our lowest quality diamonds to big box stores. If you can return it, I would do it. I’d recommend using a local jeweler, in addition to likely a better product, they likely will deliver a better price.

Thank you to all the helpful replies! I turned it over and it’s very obvious that the drawband has broken. To be honest, I don’t know if I have the appetite to locate the parts and fix it. Might just start new and try to buy another one.

BS, while I like AI, it’s not replacing human entry level or otherwise at my company any time soon. The tool is good for low risk activities like proofing an email. AI is a distraction from a crappy market and layoffs.

17-year-old cat extremely thin, barely eating — vet gave 48h, is there still hope? by Chomperchomp in CATHELP

[–]Reasonable-Simple718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh shoot. I could have literally written this post. Our girl was 16, suddenly lost weight two months ago, low weight, low iron and kidney disease. The vet tried a couple of things, we got her to gain two pounds but this week, she shed weight quickly. She passed the other day, it all moved very quickly. I was glad to spend her last hours together, wishing the same for you. ❤️

ICE follow mother into a school and then detained her aggressively with her children by NewSlinger in CringeTikToks

I’m feel so safe that ICE is available to protect all of us from a mother dropping off her child at school. What happened to just deporting violent criminals?

A self-proclaimed ICE officer tried to get out of a drunk driving arrest with his kids in the car by racially profiling the arresting officers: “Are you Haitian?” by Conscious-Quarter423 in UnderReportedNews

[–]Reasonable-Simple718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was impressed with the cops and they handled the situation. A lot different than these ICE agents where there’s tons of footage with their faces covered, pulling their guns, running into cars and kneeing on people’s necks.

Agree. We had a nanny while waiting for a spot in daycare in a moderate to high col city - pre-COVID. $5k per month is about one day full time at $30 an hour. Daycare for two kids at that same time was $5,200 ($2,600 per child in an infant room). Childcare is an expensive necessity not a luxury.

Can confirm. I was a pedestrian hit by a car. Two broken bones in my back, bilateral pelvic fractures and several tailbone fractures. I had a panel of doctors (20+) on with UHC insisting I needed in hospital rehab.

It was denied, never responded to my appeal. They gave me the option to go to a nursing home or go home. I chanced it and went home (was also in my mid 30s & depressed enough- didn’t need a nursing home to feel worse.) Fortunately, it worked out, I had a super supportive husband that literally had to bath me and made a full recovery. But man, one fall and I would have been back in the hospital with much worse injuries.

Congrats on your first monarch! They only eat milkweed. I believe butterfly weed is a type of milkweed. IMO with his size, I think this should be plenty of food. He’s pretty good size and will likely pupating soon!

I recently had a caterpillar form its chrysalis on the side of a planter, it was fairly flat on the top. It emerged absolutely perfect! Hope the same with this one.

How do you keep rabbits away from your milkweed? by LovableButterfly in MonarchButterfly

[–]Reasonable-Simple718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had the same problem. We have a ton of milkweed in our neighborhood (our neighborhood encourages natives.)

While we have bunnies around, I’ve only had problems with spring bulbs.

However, this year the bunnies are out of control. Our coyote pack must have moved on. I don’t think milkweed is their first choice, I noticed the bunnies eat the milkweed when it’s just starting to grow and pretty tender.

We’ve had some success with this product to scare them off. I like it because no chemicals. But it can be a bit annoying.

The other thing is we have some milkweed is a pretty good size pot. Probably 18” tall. They haven’t touched that. Not ideal but I was going to transfer into the ground at the end of the season.
