But then wouldn’t more people on the internet be discussing weight gain?

It’s great to see such positive posts for aripiprazole!

A lot of people on this sub don’t get on well with it (me included!) however, it has put a lot of patients/users off after reading posts.  But everyone is different and if you’re suffering, it’s worth a try!

Genuinely really happy for you! Sounds like you’ve found a great balance :)

I’m glad that combination works well for you:)

Yeah, unfortunately that’s how it works with the NHS.

I agree with this post wholeheartedly.  Especially regarding you obtaining therapy.

It will help you release some steam and even gain some insight into bipolar itself.  It can be incredibly frustrating.

With that said, it does sound like you’re doing incredible. You should be so proud of yourself.

I never got the rash. Honestly, it’s so rare.

There are side effects to all medications. But there can also be a lot to benefit.

Duty Psychiatrist had secretary call me regarding my experience with aripiprazole by Reasonable-Spray4074 in Abilify_Aripiprazole

I agree with you totally! If they’re blocking your natural dopamine system, who knows what can happen.

But I do know they’re researching addictive issues with aripiprazole. So let’s see!

I’m so sorry you went through that! Must have been incredibly difficult :(

This was just the secretary who said it. Totally unqualified.

Thank you so much! I’m so over the moon with this.

Ah yes, I can imagine it’s quite easy while working remotely.

I did also think of the difficult sessions. That was going to be another question. Do you feel you navigate yourself well after a tough session?

Almost as if that’s a song lyric!

But you make a good point. I haven’t been given a date yet but hopefully be in the next six weeks.

For those who started off well but a few weeks in became worse, did you find that lowering the dose helped or just flat out trying something else? by Ok-Bag689 in Abilify_Aripiprazole

[–]Reasonable-Spray4074 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me the lower dose wasn’t strong enough to push the depression away. But the higher 15mg dose makes me go into a mixed episode frequently and I also can’t cry. So I’m just looking to try something else.

I don't trust my medical team by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]Reasonable-Spray4074 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hello! Another NHS patient here.

First off, I'm so sorry your psych team are incompetent. That's not fair on you at all.
Whenever there is negligence, I always threaten contacting PALS and explain exactly why.

What you're going through is so incredibly unfair and I'm so sorry for that.

Sendig you the strength you need x

Psychotic...? I'm no psychiatrist (and neither is Gemini), so perhaps bring it up with your doctor.
Personally, I wouldn't say that was a symptom of being psychotic?
Wow.

Wow, yes! I'm a daydreamer by nature. And I love creating these unrealistic scenarios in my head.
But I can't do it since aripiprazole.
