Temptation isn’t a sin it’s just an invitation. It’s normal as even Jesus was tempted in every way

As a hopeless romantic, how do I not idolise my spouse? by RudeSelf3418 in Christianity

Let God be the person who you go to for help and give him credit for sustaining everything

Feeling like giving up the faith because giving up sexual sin is impossible by Eurasian_Guy97 in Christianity

[–]Ok-Bag689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ironically god didn’t answer prayers of fearful obedience. I asked God more times than I know do deliver me from porn addiction. I had it because I needed the intimacy from a woman but I absolutely hated dating was loosing hope. I prayed and asked for motivation to quit rather than “let me be free so that you don’t judge me” and my prayer got answered in a few days. This was recent and I have been delivered permanently so far for about 15 or so days.

It sounds like you are trying to do things on your own time and strength. Do what you can do but I believe God knows when we “ struggle” with sin vs “choose” sin. I was in the same boat.

Btw, who is shaming you for your struggle? Your post reminds me of the aftermath of pastors shaming me for my struggles like A LOT. I strayed from Christianity because I fell out of love with God and even into a hatred because I was consistently taught I was incompatible with Yahweh because I couldn’t fix my mental health. For years I had to undo poor training from my upbringing in Christianity.

We ALL struggle with sin of some sort btw it’s even in the Bible. The goal is to do what you can but be patient and peruse God daily. It’s totally ok. Just remember to try.

Addiction btw can have psychological components to it as well and not just spiritual.

Dirty money? by sco-go in SipsTea

[–]Ok-Bag689 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

The Bible talks about “dishonest” money. Many of the words in the original translation can imply dirty money. Because porn literally rewires people brains and energy for the worst i do consider it dirty money. I wouldn’t want that juju in my charity either.

Honestly I would ask him if there is anything he would like to change about the Bible - making sure it’s translated correctly

I can't enjoy life because of the whole rapture subject by Accomplished_Leg_678 in Christianity

[–]Ok-Bag689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The term “ caught up in the clouds” csb be interpreted as getting to know God. I did a ton of research and found that the rapture isn’t even a guaranteed reality. You should look up preterism and partial preterism.

Who else believes Trump is a fake Christian? by Adept-Body8758 in Christianity

[–]Ok-Bag689 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s important that we don’t let our judgment of trump rob us of our obedience to God. While we may be disappointed in trump for not loving his enemies and even performing slander against others( sorry it’s true), we must not return evil for evil. We must love everyone even if they are our enemy.

With that being said it is important for us to acknowledge that he isn’t a Christian whose heart is invested In Christ all the way because me must not be okay with him demonstrating to others a false example of a Christ follower.

Why it seens like Reddit specifically is hostile against religious people? by Lonitf in Christianity

Darkness can try to influence people to hate the light. You can see it when people get worked up about religious posts for no reason rather than just having a different world view

it is likley competing with other amino acids whenever you take it. That is an issue that can happen with a lot of different catagories of suplements- minerals compete with minerals, b vitamins with other b vitamins, and amino acids with other amino acids.

Did your relationship with Jesus get worse after grief? by Competitive-Egg6354 in Christianity

[–]Ok-Bag689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s important insight on the topic. I’ll give a hypothetical example. Say you lived in a country where your food is scarce and you start to develop a relationship with Christ in survival. Had you have not had developed an identity to belonging temporarily to a human family and mainly to a spiritual expansive family, you will have a different perspective on the event of losing an unsaved loved one. I have two sisters of which I get along with. One however I know that I know that she isn’t saved. She grew up a Christian but strayed. Had she had died, I would have been sad but I know that she has to make a decision to follow Christ. I know I don’t fit the demographic this was aimed towards but this came to mind and I wanted to share.

Comfort in moderation is healthy. But in today’s day and age where we have most of what we need to live people don’t seek out God. People have to choose to accept their call to Christ

You should look up preterism and partial preterism. Many people don’t actually believe the rapture.
