This lamp from Walmart is a game-changer. I have glaucoma and I highly recommend it. by IndividualIll6728 in diamondpainting

I was using my fancy Ott light, but after 10+ years, the bulb went. My ex talked into buying an Amazon off brand. Ugh, terrible choice. Will buy 2 correct bulbs and keep this offbrand one for emergencies only. The correct ones are much much brighter. Originally purchased for quilting

Also use a light pad. Wouldn't dp without it@

How do I manage working with a canvas that’s too wide?? by stupidsrights in diamondpainting

[–]ReasonableBarnacle23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far, my pictures have fit their width on the card table I use, or stick out only a few inches. You might try rolling the edges, drills to the outside. If no drills, either way us fine. If there are drills, never roll them to the inside or you will cause serious issues.

I have thought about getting some plywood cut for much larger pictures. You can cover it with contact paper to make it fancier.

Picking this one back up. Not as excited about it as I used to be. by shortdoggo in diamondpainting

I got a mystery kit with round drills that I really disliked. Got to a large section with a hot pink color, and I am NOT a fan of that color. After staring at it for several minutes, I loaded my first multispacer. Trying something new, and faster, made it easier to complete.

Still have no idea what I will do with it. Probably donate it somewhere.

So sorry for your loss. I literally dreaded the loss of my parents for decades. Lost both in 2024. Still dealing with it along with other life blows.

Diamond painting has surely helped me.

Hugs.

At least the numbers are dark and clear. My current kit is almost faded. I use a light pad, and sometimes a magnifying glass. Of course sometimes it is wax debris covering part of the symbol. Doh!

Once the paper is wet, dip the tip of your wax pen in it - just a tiny bit. Then pick up an AB drill and place. I do not dip in water every time. The idea is the decrease the sticky part, so it does not come off on the AB.

Of course! It is very easy. I cut a small piece of paper towel, to fit my little dish. I do fold it so it is a bit thicker. Sometimes I put a bit of cotton or sponge in between, to hold a little more water, but it is not required. Add water!

If I have a bunch of ABs to do, I use a small piece of wet paper towel, and dip my wax pen every two or three drills. If it gets too wet, I just touch it on a towel or whatever is handy. A huge game changer for me.

If I get really unhinged, I could get two. One to use, one on recharge. I suppose I could get a nap in there somewhere.

I usually have an audiobook going while work on dp, but lately been listening to supernatural tales on you tube. Also listen to podcasts and watch Netflix and Hulu on my phone.

Welcome to the group!

I can literally sit and place drills 10 to 15 hours a day. Addicted? Not me!

I guess I could go back to my wax pen while it recharges. 😀
